rope runner

Let us know your feelings once you get the bump body Steve. I got one in my cart but the drag some people talk about has stopped me from ordering it yet. I am using my body for now, I don't notice any of those issues but it is vastly different than the TS baby bump. But it doesn't match my runner's color either.

I have had a bump since expo, used it with my half inch kmiii, and it has too much friction. But with the Marlow 11.8 it is actually pretty perfect. I think I could let out the bollard on the runner. To help with the half inch. But it's easier to just switch bodies.

I've run the bump on a handful of climbs on Prism and it's all good, didn't really notice a difference. Escalator doesn't like the bump though.

I stopped and got a retrievable key chain lanyard (I saw Eric sporting one at the show), what a great idea. No chance of dropping it now, well at least less of a chance.
That was all John's work. All I had to do was zip tie the Slic Tool to my saddle and train myself to remember it was there. I totally forgot on the first climb with it. That thing is sweet.

Really? Doesn't it flatten out when you press the rope between your thumb and index finger? Kevin, posted that he designed the RR for KMIII/KMMAX, but I used 11.7mm Yale Prism in Pittsburg, and it worked flawlessly. Also, HomeGrowns son won some 12mm Orange Kernmaster, and he posted that it also worked perfectly. I'm not very comfortable with really thin ropes, even though, I don't grab the rope per say, I just cup my hands to pull the rope towards my chest, to keep me in a vertical position. My SAKA and Pantin do 99% of the lifting. Plus I have several 300' hanks of Kernmaster and HTP, not to mention several dozen other climbing ropes, that I've amassed over the past few years. Thank You for the info, and if possible, keep me apprised of any new variations to lighten my pack weight, when I go deep wood climbing. I may try to head out to the, North 40 on thanksgiving. We're suppose to have a couple of 50*+ days before the next snowstorm!

The diameter of the rope is so small i don't notice much flattening. It def gets stiff and holds memory. I have used km3 half inch and didn't like it, i would like to try an in between rope that isn't bouncy. Tried the kernmeleon and hated it.

Anybody have a sense for how much wear is acceptable on the friction axles? Someone had mentioned rotating them, is this the consensus?
Kevin had mentioned that once a groove is worn into them, they will wear less quickly, and I beleive that to be true also

Sorry to butt in guys, but 11.7mm w/bump, 13mm w/o bump. I don't like the bump at all, but that's my personal preference. Once the anodizing gets scuffed on the friction plate you will not have any jerky or sliding issues at all. My friend tried mine @ ArbTrek w/11.7mm Prism, he weighs 260, w/o gear and had no problems at all. Smooth as "Silk", same for me @ 175 w/o any gear. Smooth ascent for both of us and even on a really fast descent, we stopped on a dime, no slipping at all. The anodizing is the culprit! I hope this helps, even if it's just a little..
