Cool video. I particularly liked seeing the near balance point rigging.

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

Here is part II finally.

Not as good as I wanted it to be.

When making a video.... you view videos and put in parts that are interesting.

Then, when the video quickly fills up, you wished you had not put in so many "okay" parts.

It's not the great video I wanted it to be, but it is too much trouble to change.

So.... I will let it be done by telling myself just do a part 3.

So, try to enjoy it if you can.

Pretty much sucks compared to what I wanted it to be. Whatever, I'm DONE with it.

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

Yeah, well I think you've put it together just fine. It's clear it takes many hours to do.

At 8:25, we see the old model Hobbs, same as I have, but mine has no fairlead, which I assume you've added to yours. A much needed addition.

Of course, as always, the work you guys do is stellar!

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

awsome work love the videos thanks for all your hard work!
a few of thoes pieces of wood your rigged are HUGE!

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

First time I've seen these vids X.

They are without doubt some of the very best rigging vids I've ever seen!

Very very impressive and well thought out.

I only have one small critique of vid one, in which your rigging point, which was obviously a removal, still had the head on it, yet was still supporting major dynamic loads. I tend to take the heads off my rigging points that are going to have to support major dynamic forces exerterted on them.

Other than that, your rigging was almost flawless my good man!

Surely you didn't think no-one was going to nit pick your outstanding vids?

You set a high bench mark X!

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

Thanks.

I left some non perfect things in....
I left in the clip where rope bounces up out of groundmans hands. I wanted it to run to the ground anyway and I thought he did a great job, but it was not much different then free falling since he lost it for most of the fall. Pretty funny and interesting, so I put it in. It's the biggest log u see rigged. Fun to watch in slow motion to see what happened.

Oh, I intentionally leave tops in my rigging locations. Usually reduce them of limbs, all but one limb or so. Significantly reduces shake and adds dampening to the spar if u leave on a sail.

Also leave a sail on logs that might go for a long swing, keeps them from going so far.

On my cell ph, so not worded great, hope makes sense, on lunch break

With pipes like that (@8:00) I'm surprised you just didn't rip the stump out of the ground tree intact. The J-lagg's were really smart, but no "Wow that guy just ripped that entire tree out of the ground and threw it 3 blocks over." Top notch rigging man. Definite learning tool for sure.

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

Thank you.

I'm sad to see the resonse stoped so quickly. Glad someone added a post.

urban tc,

Sorry, I'm bad with names, but I see the remote in your avatar.

You running a crane from that? A knuckle boom maybe?

Also a question to all, do you hate the music? One guy in the UK said he did not like the music, he liked the video but wished there was no music at all.

I can easily make one with no music. What do you think?

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

The vid was excellent, David, watched it 3 times (+ fav'd it), and FWIW, I liked the music.

If someone wants it without music ... ain't that what MUTE is for???

Anyway, great vid, great music, great work ...

Thanks,

I didn't think the music was terrible. Music is the hardest thing to choose and add IMO with all the copyright laws and such. I have gone with either no music or youtube music which you can add in the enhancements tab when you edit the info on it. You can even add one that is similar in length.

Plus you can always mute the music on youtube and play some from your own computer.

Choice of music never takes away from great rigging/tree work and you have displayed that.

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

good to hear this from you all. thanks. I was thinking, maybe i could make a version good for the UK: With really gay disco techno music, they might get their manginas all wet with music like that.

Re: Rope Rigging video PART II finally.

Both your videos are great!! Gay techno disco music might win over some more crowds. Thanks for taking the time to put these together.
