Jack, this is a video that I made for our fire company after we took rope rescue 1. This releasing hitch can be used 3 or 4 times before having to be retied. 5 or 6 if you are really careful with how much you release. The video shows how to tie it. To release it you undo the daisy chain, pop the bite back through the rope and use one hand to twist the coils back out (do not undo them) while controling the tail with the other. Under tension they back out quite smooth. To reset, you just pass the bite back through and daisy chain it back up.
