today's work at one of our botanical gardens in Honolulu. Had to deadwood this monster, just the major stuff over the pathways.

hard to believe this tree is not more than 100 years old, at around 15' diameter and 120'.

there's some deadwood right by my lanyard. didn't even mess around with lowering, just bombs away and avoid the good plants below.

Seems like the most difficult time of year to deadwood those trees. I'm guessing it's the best time health-wise?

A couple more photos from the same gardens. These are from yesterday. We removed several large dead branches from the canopy of a Kapok tree. We took the time to lower the branches to prevent any damage to the large buttress roots/trunk.
