Pull Rope Tie Off

Just so no one gets too fired up this thread was started by saying that there was no problem and we didn’t need anything new. It was just looking for the differences in basal tie vs runner and if candycaning the Basal tie did anything.

So I agree it’s not a 2:1, sop of either is situational and fine. It was just looking for a way to explain if and why. We did that nicely

HOWEVER, maybe instead of coming right down the trunk, the standing end of the pull line could be tied out on a lateral limb, directly back from the lay, applying lift on the limb at a leveraged point, while the equal and opposite force is straight down the trunk, providing a neutral effect on bending moment (EDIT)... the downward force on the up and over point is neutral to bending moment, but the lift on a backward reaching lateral limb increases bending moment to your good....

One of these days I AM going set up a an experiment and prove this stuff all scientific like!
