Pruning Saws

I use the Samurai Ichiban 13" . I've been very happy with it. Don't think the silky's could be so much better to be worth the extra cost. Clients marvel at how fast my saw cuts.
I think more important is the tooth count per inch. Bigger teeth (less per inch ) means more power needed to pull it.

Definitely get a non folding saw and scabbard. Hang it on your hip or inside the bucket lip.

I've used silky, samurai, and stihl (which I think uses ARS blades). I liked samurai, but I think dead wood is harder on them than on silky. The stihl saws were aggressive, but not as smooth as silky. I end up using about three blades a year, but that's because I use my handsaw a lot. If dropping the money is an issue, samurai would be my second choice. The blades are cheap, and they do cut quickly, as Oroboros mentioned. I don't like wearing samurai on my leg because the handle is more easily hooked by rope and brush. However, it is a comfortable grip.

With Stihl, I recommend finding a true ARS saw. The black and orange paint always seems to be more expensive than other color combinations.
