Problem with my Gecko spurs?

Hello everyone, (hope this is the best category to post in)

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post ever on this website. I hope I can get some help?

I have the oddest problem...I bought some Gecko spurs (the aluminum ones) and I find that after several hours in the tree the top part of my shins just on the inside of my leg (left of my shin bone) receives so much pressure that it bruises to the point of creating a scab. And that's after several hours! As I type this I can imagine someone asking if I wear the padding (yes I do). And yes I have adjusted the height, which doesn't seem to help. I have even worn a tensor bandage on my leg, which helps but should I really have to do that? Any thoughts as to how I could avoid this problem? If the problem doesn't get better I think I might sell them at a reduced price and try another kind of spurs

I found this same issue with every pair I had ever used till I found the sweet spot. Then again I am a skinny guys so I am used to having issues with sizes till it is adjusted right.

I've only worn them a few times and they definitely hurt but they were too low on my shin. Seems like the adjustment has to be perfect because of the rigid upper.

Sounds like you are wearing them on the wrong feet did that once thought they were going to break my legs

X2- when Jeff wore them on the wrong leg it was so bad my shins hurt!

I set my bucks up backwards on purpose. I swapped the right and left climbers. I like'em better that way and they don't hurt at all unless I'm on them all day for several days in a row.

Interdasting. I am eventually going to buy another set of spurs and had considered the geckos, but after hearing that it may be a PITA to get them at just the right adjustment, I may have to reconsider. Bucks with cast aluminum pads have been so comfortable right out of the box, no fussing around.....If you decide to sell 'em, lemme get a crack at the bid....at least I'll know it won't be tough to resell em if I don't like em.

Imagine if a company actually stamped an L and an R in their spikes?

They do! my Carbon Fiber Gecko's have a big L and R impressed in the pads and they only fit one way

My buck titaniums have it stamped on the main shaft. Can't see it when they are set up with pads though, not that that makes a difference as they can only fit one way when they are assembled. This is how it's marked No TB9403L 11 08. L meaning left. The right one has R. Glad I pulled them apart as the little screws needed locktite, one was backing off and I already lost one, but replaced it when I changed the last set of pads.

Wow cool! Thanks for all the reply's guy's...I really appretiate your feed back it's super! I'll try some of the suggestions and if they keep bothering me I'll let those who are interested know that I'm selling them, because they might work great for someone else (maybe with different leg size, or whatever). And yes they likely would get a deal because they would have so few hours of use.

Thanks again for all the feed back...makes me want to do my part if I can help someone myself on this site in the future.
