Pictures of your chipper truck, lets see them!

Right now I have 7.5' (10,000 lbs) aluminum ramps that I bought from discount ramps for the Isuzu setup. They worked well on the Isuzu, but on the International they are kinda steep and scary.

So I am looking into the Big Boy EZ Rizer™ Heavy Duty Extra Wide ATV Ramps, which are 10' and 3000 lbs...and they fold in half. Or I will get some custom ones made. My final goal is to have 10 'bifold ramps mounted to each side of the platform, pinned on.

Steer clear of the folded ATV ramps. I bought a pair when we got our mini and they snapped immediately. Apparently 3000lbs only applies to a wheeled vehicle, such as an ATV, which distributes the load differently. I got 10' long, 5000lb ramps from Discount Ramps and they've been great. You might need to find somewhere else to stash them on that truck though. Maybe on top of the chip box?

First is a 66" southco box which was not big enough for our needs so I called and with a little hesitation southco did build me a 72" box which fit us perfect. So if anyone needs a bigger chip box on a small chassis they will build it if you ask nicely they were fantastic to deal with.

How's the f550 do pulling that chipper with a full load of chips?
By boss just bought a new chip truck, '08 power stroke f550 with a 14 yard box. I'm curious to see how it handles hauling/stopping the weight.
It was the '08, real clean f550, or the '04, hard worked, rugged looking f650 with slightly bigger box. Hoping we don't regret purchasing the smaller truck....

Pulls and stops the 1590xp with a full load of chips no problem can run the hills great and flys down the highway not that I recommend it lol. I also have a 07 F550 and its night and day in power and stopping. I'm pulling the chip body off 07 and making it a utillty truck.

New chip truck this month from Arbortech. Not the best experience dealing with them, but they did have a good price. Still needs stickers.

Wanted a southco body but they wanted almost 10,000 more for the same truck.

Cummins 5.9 and Allison Auto. 250 horse. It pulls a 1590xp. I ordered this one with a ladder box. My last chip truck did not. I like both of my trucks to have all the same tools so everyone can get a job done. Provides a space for a ladder, stihl power pruner, rakes, and shovels.
