People get paid to model for figure drawing/painting classes. The students don't necessarily have the right to sell the images unless the subject consents to it.

Perhaps, but allowing complete strangers to paint you in the altogether is not really a cry for privacy.

It's possible the artist would like to get consent but doesn't have your contact info. Being an artist myself and having many nude painting done in art class if any were to get hung publicly I would have no way to ask for consent being I have no idea who these people were. It would have been really rude to ask at the time. (There were a few I would have liked to have asked and maybe if a cup of coffee would be ok, later, lol) But it happens all the time. Hey if it really looks that much like her you should buy it.

The painting is hanging on the wall... It wasn't a huge deal, but she still didn't want the entire community to see it hanging in a art gallery on the main drag... Not asking permission was tacky at best. We live on a Island in a very small community. Loosing contact info isn't a viable excuse here, every one knows every one. It also turned out that it was the teacher of the class too...
