Petzl ZigZag letter

What does that mean? Am I missing something new and revolutionary in tree climbing?

What Tuttle is saying is that with the Lockjack, slack tending is effortless or nonexistent because of how rope just drops through the device unlike the Zig Zag or climbing with a hitch. The Lockjack isn't new but it certainly is revolutionary and in my opinion underutilized.

Ryan and Tuttle. I believe you to be incorrect on slack tending on the zigzag. After about 10' off the ground I'd never touch my ZZ again on ascent and it had no sit back. Never climbed on a spider or lock jack but I can tell you when climbing srt,and some ddrt with the zigzag there is no need to tend slack.
