North American Tree Climbing Championship

It does suck for the chapter that is holding the event, because those climbers only get one chance to make it to the itcc. Were every one else get two chances, like Jarad.

I was thinking more of things like not having the Master's challenge, and not having their chapters name/recognition on a shirt. I wonder what would have happend if one of their competitors had made it to the top 5? Or the top.... They didn't in the prelims... so we really don't know, do we? Perhaps they could have sent their top climber with the NATCC, and their second place climber as the Southern Chapters rep?

From what I understand, that is exactly how it would have worked. If the chapter champion of any chapter had won, the chapter would still be able to send a representative.

Thanks for posting the scores.

Will the Masters scores be posted as well?

You're welcome. I don't have the Master's scores... I sure hope someone does and posts! I have only seen the paper prelim scores.... and only got the mens. I'd like to see the ladies also. I really would have thought they would have been up on the site by now.... or somewhere.

Here are some photos I took. I put up more on Facebook.

Noel, Eric_E,

I believe your concern about how much emphasis is placed on a Masters Challenge is somewhat separate from what EZ and Josephine are talking about.

The New Life Masters Challenge is the format of the International TCC, and in fact the new NATCC.

The absence of the Southern Masters Challenge disenfranchised Southern climbers because it treated them differently than what should be expected.

Thanks, EZ, for addressing this problematic issue in such a coherent manner. Hopefully the organizers of the NATCC will listen and make appropriate changes.

I have high hopes for the NATCC- I think it can become a really cool comp.

Michigan would like to convey our pride in Michigan's competitors: Lucas Drews, Kevin Bingham and Startlett Lee! Thanks for representing Michigan at the NATCC. Great job all three of you!
