North American Tree Climbing Championship

"If no one from the host Chapter makes it to the Masters Challenge, then they are supposed to be satisfied with sending the top scorer from the preliminaries (with no Masters Challenge) to ITCC. "

Than their best climbers going , right ? Top climber in the pre lims has the best shot at being in the top at the ITCC . A good climb wins the Masters , and that person might not be the best rep for the Chapter. Fact . I'm sure The Southern Chapter will be well represented and all involved gained from seeing the level of competition that they never saw unless they went to an ITCC . Sorry I missed it , good job . Want to be the best , beat the best .

I checked out the pics yesterday on the NATCC site but was unable to find them today. Did they haul them off the site or is my computer activley trying to erode my sanity?

If it's your computer... it's mine too. Looks like the pics are gone, and a video to come tease is in it's place.

So with the Southern Chapter hosting the NATCC again next year, in Birmingham, is anyone considering putting a serious petition together to fix this years issues?

are you f-ing kidding me? why does the southern have to host this thing every year? i heard that florida was nice in february, san diego's weather is the bomb all year round, and texas i heard everything is better in texas. anyone that hosts this event should be allowed to run there own separate masters and awards ceremony.

Rather than the bother of a petition why not just make sure that the planners/organizers/powers-that-be, read this thread?

They have.

There were several petitions that I saw passed around (and that I signed) at the NATCC. One was to allow single line climbing (ala F8, Rope Wrench, etc) and another to have a Masters for the Southern climbers. Neither seemed to have an impact.

The NATCC Masters was finished by 3:00pm. Why no time for a Southern Masters is still a mystery to me.

If the NA TCC where held in Florida or Texas the Chapter limit of 20 climbers seems like it would be much less of a problem versus forcing a Chapter with 9 freaking states and territories to squeeze into a 20 person limit....

I can almost understand forcing this on the Southern Chapter for the first year, but now that you have a full year to plan for the next event I would hope that a more equitable solution could be found....

Or perhaps as its own independent TCC?
