Non invasive cabling

We are able to go without cabling and pruning is the way to go as it comes to making things safe !

Don't get me wrong there !

For example, huge almost horizontal oak branch right above the neighbours house, grown for years and years without pruning, def some signs of being overloaded, some delamination cracks and some extra wood formation on the base of the branch. Pruning it to the right proportion and weight balance would mean to take about 90 of the foliage out of it leaving it to die back or decay. So we like to keep the natural looks of the tree (habitat) respected and we want to create a safe situation. Prune it nice 20 to 30 % reduction of foliage. And some extra cable to support it may the sh*t hits the fence.....

After two or three pruning cycles with an interval of at least 5 years we could really get this particular branch back into crown proportion and create some more leave structure near the base of the branch in stead of growing all the way out there for some little sunlight and growing weight problem.

So after some years we can even get rid of the extra cable and we have a safe tree that doesn't longer needs to be on extra suspenders for the rest of his life cause all the wood has weakend by supporting it with steek cables what wasn't nescessary at first ;-)

Maybe a little to straight on thinking, but we do what we think works best for maintaining nice natural looking safe trees over here. And I know you do the same over there. No need to call eachother names or even get upset about it. It's just a different approach and we all do what we think works best.

Respect.

Climb safe
