New England TCC

I heard that line on a movie the other night while relaxing.

Check out Look Parks website http://www.lookpark.org/index.php
Looks like a great place for the family or EZ, especially the Steamer Train.
How is the ballast of the pool affected when you're there EZ? Are you still wearing a swimmie diaper and wings or just wings?

Hey All,

We've got a stack of awesome climbers coming this weekend. To boot we've got a talented, fun bunch of judges & techs to help this year's NEC Comp.

Hope you've all practiced and freshened up on your rule books! (Hint hint)

Keep posted to the NEC-ISA website for weather delays.
Please note the educational sessions have been cancelled. With the schedule change... lots of climbing will be had!

Significant others, families & friends, food vendors are on site.

Yes, $5.oo to get into Park (all day pass). Lots of things for little people to do too!

Looking for a serious men's (about 40) and women's (5) competition! Feeling some Chapter records about to be broken!

Doctor says I have proved the ability to hold nature's urges, so I bathe diaper-free these days.

As far as ballast of the pool goes, I have never been good with physics, and I can't understand how there can be so much water when I get in the pool, but when I get out, there is barely any left in the pool...

I still have to rock the water wings though. They keep my enormous head afloat.

Sike no, Lots of love to you, Pancake. I hope all of you New Englander-types have a great time at your TCC.

I hope someone will be taking photos for the rest of us who can't make it there.

Anyone else staying at the Clarion? I got a weird call from them that the event had been cancelled?

[/ QUOTE ]

The Clarion should be counted on for sound advice in matters concerning banquet rooms, overpriced room service, and hospital corners on their guest beds.

To my knowledge, the Clarion Family of hotels have no authority to call off an ISA event like this.

I would request to speak with the manager and demand a one night free stay with breakfast bar for your mental anguish.

Have fun in the thunder storms then, the rest will come back next week. Also when at the top of the work climb tree hold your silky as high as you can.

TCC is ON, educational seminars are cancelled, except for bare root tree planting demo, since we already have the trees. Leaving shortly for setup!

It was a great weekend, with lots of camaraderie and great climbing! Some really big trees made for some interesting events. There were some changes and twists (pun intended), and lots of sharing of ideas and techiniques.

Dan Weise used the ropewalker system in the Master's Challenge, which was one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.

Don't worry, I'm sure there's plenty more chatter coming!

Congrats Dan for a great Masters Climb as well as the highest score going into the masters challenge.
This weekend was a great one, as posted earlier filled with great people, great stories, and tons of camaraderie. I hope all learned as much as me, and are motivated to come at it again next year even harder.
NEC really stepped it up this year. The use of a 200 foot rope was needed for the work climb and was too short for the throw line number 10 target. The work climb had an extreme rope angle that had you looking your tie in point in the eye, while working the pole saw station. With a time of 6 minutes it was a fast climb, and many competitors timed out.
All i can say was it was a great weekend and I am very happy to see the competition getting more challenging, it makes for great climbing by all. If you look at the top 10 places, they are all very close sometimes only one point separating the places...... Super cool

What an honor to be a part of this. My highest complients to the staff, judges, and top notch climbers- you guys made it happen. 16 first time competitors, wow. Close point spread in the top 10 again, the trees evened the field. Now that I have the down low on KILLA, it makes sense. I really appreciate all of your kind words and support in regards to my injury, I had a blast. kp
