This is why I bought my first bucket truck. I didn't want one because I thought it would make me fat and lazy. People were convinced that you needed it to do stuff that I was perfectly comfortable climbing. Now after having a bucket for many years I can tell you it is one the better"fitness" enhancing tools that I own. That, and it's an average of six times faster than climbing. It leaves me in such better shape at the end of the day so I can go do some thing different that I enjoy-i.e. go for a run or a bike ride, etc...
Wow, this is a great post! Six times faster is nothing to sneeze at. So if a job is do-able with a lift, and you own one, it makes sense to use it every time you can.
Your comment that it "improves your fitness" or words to that effect is a really interesting observation, and counter-intuitive. More energy to do workouts that more directly impact aerobic fitness or strength due to not having to climb, which can wipe a person out for the day.
