MARCS Midline Attachable Rope and Cambium Saver

I made one after Rich first showed his last year. You do not want to do that, it takes forever and is a pain in the ###. Worth the cost to have it made for you and I don't even know what they cost yet. Keep up the great work Rich.

If Velcro is closed or paired it keeps sawdust and debris from clogging the hooks and loops. I've seen Velcro climbing spike wraps trashed because they are closed. Mine are many years old and still
Have the distinctive Rrrrrrrip! Ankle strap in buckled. ..unwrapped... sawdust dusted off...reseal closed

My guess is that the leather will wear through in an expected way a long time before the Velcro is gone

Seems like a piece of tubular webbing would be better for a lanyard. Scrunchable when on smaller wood. I've been fighting grand-fir pitch this week, and have some more dead ones to go, elsewhere.

Exactly what I used to use and I would put a little bit of dimensional fabric paint on it to help it stay stiff. It's just not midline attachable and I often use my long lanyard for a miniature climbing system so there's some issues with heat transfer to the cambium.
But yes, I agree, tubular webbing is a good choice.

I have one of these from Richard. Works great! I am a confirmed DIY tinkerer but I second the opinion above that it would be VERY difficult and not cost effective to try and make one of them yourself. It is well made and a sophisticated product despite its deceptively simple appearance. I have a SAKA and MiniSAKA also and the quality and thought that goes into Richard's products is absolutely top hole.
