Client has 2 trees that I can't ID.
North Texas area ( Flower Mound )
From Client:
-The trees have tiny (~BB size), cone-shaped fruiting bodies about this time of year (you can see dark clusters of them at the base of some of the Simmons Road leaves). These used to drop down on us and were a bit sticky. I'm fairly certain they turned into tiny yellow or white flowers.
-The bark in some places appears reddish-tan underneath the blocky part and splits into fissures. Not sure if this is diagnostic of the tree or if it is an indicator of its poor health.
-The leaves are simple alternate and do not have serrated/toothed edges (helps to rule out Elm species).
Any help would be great!
