Jobber Software

Just wanted to post a quick update about some new features because this has been requested by a lot of you in the past...

You can now customize the colors used on your calendar to indicate who a task is assigned to or what kind of task it is, and also customize the visit titles to include additional information such as property address and job description.

Check out the blog post that explains how this new stuff works here: http://blog.getjobber.com/2013/08/jobber-calendar-version-2-5/

We hope these new features help make Jobber even more useful in scheduling and managing your business! Let us know what you think about it, and keep an eye on the Jobber Blog for more announcements as we continue to add to and improve the software.

Cheers,
Sam @ Jobber

Hey guys,

@mikegar & @marlinspiker: Not sure where you heard that Constant Contact integration was coming, because that isn't currently on the roadmap, but MailChimp integration IS. Mailchimp (www.mailchimp.com) is great, because they have a free tier that lets you send up to 12,000 emails a month to up to 2,000 subscribers, which will cover the needs of most small/medium businesses. As of right now you can easily get your clients from Jobber into Mailchimp (and other systems) by exporting a client list CSV and importing into whichever system you choose. With Mailchimp it's literally about 4 clicks and you're done. In fact, I think our intern is working on a little tutorial to be posted on our Blog (http://blog.getjobber.com) on exactly how to do this.

@NickfromWI: I know we chatted today/yesterday already, but for the benefit of everyone else as well, native apps are under development. It's a big undertaking with lots of engineering hurdles and red-tape, so unfortunately it's not something we're able to push out super quickly, but rest assured that it IS coming!

Cheers!
Sam @ Jobber

Jobber,

can you guys make a button that you can duplicate an estimate? Often times my clients don't want to do every itemized item on the list and it would be nice to have the original estimate to reference when they might want to go back and do some of those things down the road. I would prefer the convenience of this rather then rewriting the items they do want on a separate estimate or deleting them and then losing them forever.

@marlinspiker,

Thanks for the suggestion — this is actually something that we do have on our list of things to do. What you can do right now though is leave the original Quote/Estimate in tact, create a Job from it (which will automatically copy over all the line items) and then just remove the line items your customer isn't interested in. This works great because your original Estimate is left as it was for future reference, but the Job that was created is connected to the Quote for future reference as well, so you can even see in the future that you quoted for additional work that the customer ended up opting not to do — that's usually a great time to up-sell them on the stuff they left out last time.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Sam @ Jobber

Sounds like a TreeStuff stunt! Awesome!

Been running for a good month now. I am starting to like it. Do have some questions though. Can you get a map layout of quotes that have been converted to jobs in a separate map/routing view?

Which makes it easier to schedule jobs that are close to each other. Routing feature is more into lawn/landscaping where they are making multiple visits a year. Sometimes a client is only visited once in the tree care world.

@Tr33Climb3r: We do have plans to provide some additional views and visibility into your quoting information, and a mapping view makes quite a bit of sense. Would love to hear any additional feedback about this you might have at info@getjobber.com — maybe include your t-shirt size and mailing address while you're at it ;)

Cheers,
Sam

I started with Jobber today with high hopes but ran into my first hurdle very quickly: it won't allow for two different taxes to be charged to one quote/invoice.

This is weird to me because half of the canadian provinces don't use a harmonised tax, which means everything needs to be seperate.

I did chat with Justine at Jobber who was very helpful. She said it is something that should be coming. I also need to talk to my accountant about it to see what she says.

For now, I'm putting off using Jobber for this single reason, which blows because it looks like a real time-saver and life-organiser...

Hey Mathieu, I replied to you on our Facebook page but also thought I would put the reply here for others to see as well.

So we are currently working on an update for our invoice templates so I will pass that request along and see what we can do for you.

I will quote an option for those who use QuickBooks: "What you can do is set a tax rate that is gst and qst combined and if you are syncing with quickbooks they will recognize that the total is made up of two individual tax rates you have in QB and put them into their appropriate categories."

We do strive to make Jobber a time-saver and life-organiser, so hopefully you can will still be able to use Jobber to make things easier for you in the meantime.

Also glad to hear Justine was very helpful for you. She is our new full time customer support.

Ah the bilingual templates, I abandoned that idea long ago. If I do go with Jobber I will just use their english template but add info in french, I'm pretty sure everyone will be able to understand that. As long as the language police don't come after me...

What are you guys using Mike?
