Jobber Software

I put the request in but we did not end up ordering them. I guess we had to order something crazy like 500 of them minimum so they decided to just stick to getting t-shirts.

We do have a ton of really really bright green t-shirts to give away now!

Hey guys, quick update.

For the last little bit there has been more of a focus on making what we currently have better and working out the kinks in the workflows. We are going to be doing a lot of work on getting more customer feedback and collecting it in a way so that we can act on it better.

We are going to start doing a lot more surveys and phone interviews, so if you are interested in being apart of the future changes I would love to talk to you. I also want to start crediting those who help us out in the change-log and new release blog posts.

My direct contact information is in my signature and I am available anytime during the day.

I am interested. I am really liking jobber.

Landen- I recently tried jobber as well. I liked a lot of what I saw. But the points that Mike and Tom make are totally game changers for me. We are using Arborgold currently. While it has more functionality it is far more cumbersome to use and has its own problems. How much would it cost to have above items Tom and Mike mentioned customized for us?

DMJ, I agree Arborgold has a lot more functionality than Jobber--especially for tree care companies. (DMJ, You've been a loyal customer from a number of years?) . Arborgold does renewals, tracks trees on property, PHC etc. If anyone wants a free trial of Arborgold cloud please contact sales@arborgold.com.

what about all of the terrible customer service issues arborgold is known for?

Mike, we appreciate your concerns. In our 20+ years of business, unfortunately, I am sure we fell short of some users' expectations. We have a very responsive support team with over 90%+ satisfaction rating by our users. We continue to invest in our users and care about their success in the tree and landscape industry.

Based on my experience with your product/organization this statement is an outright lie. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

I took the plunge today and signed up for jobber. I spent some time with Jason on the phone and he walked me through some stuff. He was super patient and helpful.
My main reason for getting jobber was for the emailing of quotes. I'm sure more of the stufff will become useful as I see how it helps me.
One question for jobber users - how do you deal with those estimates that are not being emailed? The kind where someone wants something written and left in their door/hand/mailbox/you get the point.? Do you write one out and then enter all the info in jobber later? Do you make an estimate on jobber and have a portable printer with you? This is my biggest hangup. I don't want to do a bunch of stuff twice. Or is there a better way to just send email estimates?

Chris

it rarely if ever happens that a client doesnt have email where i live. if they dont it is a huge red flag to me. you can always print the estimates and mail them or carry a mobile field printer.

Almost all my customers have email. Less than 10% don't. I hardly ever print an estimate or invoice these days, unless it's a municipal/education customer that requires a signed copy.

I thought about a portable printer, but I carry enough around as it is. Also, for the $1 or so it costs to mail a letter, it would take several years to pay for a portable printer that doesn't make good looking laser prints anyways.

Hey did everyone else but me know that jobber had a native android app? Been waiting for that for a year, must have snuck up on me when I was out plowing snow everyday this winter...

I take a picture of the written proposal and attach it to a quote in jobber on the client, and file the paper doc.

If they go ahead with the work I will usually transfer the specs to the quote in Jobber.

they have an iphone app now as well. The android app works really well.
I have lost a few quotes due to the android app crashing. I switched to using the desktop interface on my tablet for quoting.

EDIT: the quotes hadn't been saved and the app crashed. Once they're saved I'm safe. I would say this issue is one of the biggest PITAs with Jobber, and I love it. I've lost quotes with the desktop interface too. I did just last Monday in fact...

It would really be great to have some sort of draft auto save function like these forums do.

Does anymore have sample proposal that they could post showing how they laid them out and designed them?

Is anyone using the chemical tracking part? I wanted to know how well it works and how easy to use?

Are you able to data mine? Say do a search for clients with ash trees and send out info or a proposal for treatment of the trees for the ash borer.

Can you print out a client list, say on labels to do a mailing to clients? Or a list of emails to do a mass email through mail chimp or other system?

Thanks for any help.
