Yes he did Tom. He also wrote about it back in the early 1990's in TCI Magazine. I still have those issues and they are classsic.

I know both Joe and Grant and was allowed to climb on my wrench at the VTCC here in Oz which Grant was head judge and Joe was in charge of what equipment was allowed, i was also at that training workshop and we were far enough away so that if anything did go worng no one was hurt. Speaking to Joe and Grant after the VTCC both want SRT climbing systems to be used in competitions, its the paperwork thats an issue Joe himself has contacted ROck exotica regarding the unicenders instructions but to no avail, and he seemed pretty happy that there was a "wrencher" having a go at his local comp.
