ISA test question

[ QUOTE ]
I gotta do more tree work. I even put a cat video on facebook today and I don't like cats. The winternet.

Me too!
The winternet is adding unwanted girth to my circumference.

I think I will buy all the study materials once I get my tax returns back or if I make some extra money beforehand. Sucks that its winter and there is less to no work. Will be doing a tree job next week sometime and hoping to get some climb time in.

Pm me your address and I'll give you my audio set of the study guide. It's word for word the book, but kind of mind numbing to try to follow. It helped me focus while reading the book to drown out the bouncing 5 year old making noise in the house. Also it's not really worth buying the audio book. It will get you started. Also check your library, I was able to get some shigo, and harris.

DonaldRobertson, I wouldn't stress it so hard.

Seriously... If you get the cd's and pass all the practice tests, you will do fine.

Honestly, isa cert is not as monumentally difficult as it may seem.

Seriously... Just get those cd's.... They make it easy...

Dan,
Evo sent me the ISA study guide certification audio cd's and I only had them for 3 or 4 days and I have already listened to a few of the same CDs a couple times and learned a few new things. I'll be ready to take the test when I about know the whole book. Tree bracing, cabling, tree risk assesment are some of the subjects that interests me the most so far since Tree worker safety is common sence and when it comes to pruning, thats pretty simple since I learned how to do that over the years but I still won't ignore any section/chapter of the book since I want to get the highest possible score that I can get.

Son wrote the CA exam today.
He said he was suprised that there were around 10 questions on lightning protection, and only two or three on cabling.

I also heard the ISA's Introduction to arboriculture is also another good source of study material.

We use the ISA interactive CD's in our weekly study sessions. We've had good success when tied with chapter study out of the book. About 50% of our treemen have been passing the exam first time through. I'm thinking that's not bad for career line clearance arborists with limited exposure to IVM, PHC and D&D.

Hey DonaldRobertson, did you do the exam? More importantly, did you expand your knowledge of trees and the environment they live in? In my books, studying to pass an exam isn't very motivating, in fact, it's stressing. I'm not good with reading text books. After the first couple of paragraphs, I can't keep my eyes open. Unless, I'm seeking something that piqued my curiosity. Every day, every property you walk on, look for something that you've never seen before or don't know about. Then go online and search for some answers. If someone tells you some sort of "fact", go online and confirm it.

You'll be amazed at how quickly your knowledge base grows. The test only confirms what you've learned.

Don't sweat it. Pick the BEST right answer. I found many questions didn't have a wrong answer, just a better answer than the others. It can be misleading if you pick the first right answer you see.

Don't over think it. I did, but quickly realized it wasn't as hard as I though. Made a 93%.

Hey! Thank you for your support!

So there are 220 multiple questions on the exam and you must pass with a 72% or better to receive the certification, since I am bad at math can you tell me how many questions that you are able to miss? I came up with 56 and not sure if that is correct so hopefully you all can tell me. I know I will soon become a pest with this ISA testing stuff but I'm really thinking about doing it since it really doesn't cost all that much but I need to do my studying first.
Multiply 220 by 0.72
