Your disdain for immigrants is confusing. Aren't they just playing the free market game and getting a lot of Americans to vote for them with their dollars?

I don't understand what your saying.

Pog mo thoin, its your sig, suggesting you are of Irish heritage. Don't forget we Americans all came from somewhere, at some point, with some story.

yes we did,we came right through ellis island the legal way.Our immigrant ancestors came here to be american's.They wanted to learn english and work for there piece of the american dream. Now they sneak across the border at night to collect welfare and free healthcare. They don't care about learning english because the welfare office also speaks spanish. But you know what,i don't blame them.I blame us for not building a wall 200 feet tall, along the entire border.

You guys that keep posting anti free market rhetoric, and it's obvious you are so don't make me go back and quote all of you. What is your ideal market environment?Prices set by who?

Dont want MORE in the private sector, I want the private sector back. Govt needs to start shrinking not keep growing. Is it cheaper for a private sector employee to do a job, or a Govt employee to carry out those same tasks? I know which one costs my wallet and famliy less money.

I LOVE immigrants!!!!! My best friends in the world are from Dublin, 10 years back. I have absolutley no disdain for any immigrant.

Crimaliens on the other hand I have a huge problem with! Do it right or stay the hell out.

Funny how the frat boys spend the last 8 years trashing the place, and then want to dump the blame on the guy who picked up the mop. Government has historically provided services to citizens to accommodate national needs. Things like the roads we drive on, the armed forces that maintain order, treasuries. The private sector has run health care like a goat runs a vegetable garden. At a cost of 5% more in GNP than any other industrialized nation, while providing a substandard product.

Think of a business expense that constitutes 5% of your total revenue. Now poof, all of a sudden that expense just doubled.. but just for you, not your competition down the street. How do you intend to continue to be competetive in your market? On top of that, the provider of that expenditure gives substandard service which makes your business run slower with more down time. The money for improved health care is already there, it's just bottlenecking and being diverted at the insurance companies

Doctors aren't going to suffer from health care reform, they'll get approved to do more work and make more money. Ditto hospitals, even ditto pharmaceutical companies..(notice they haven't been screaming much about health care reform?)

FYI, I didn't vote for Obama, but I'm not bashing the guy with the mop. I just want to see an actual clean up take place. In case anybody hasn't looked around lately, we've got a mess that goes so far beyond party lines, that it boggles the mind. Anyone who isn't working toward a solution, is unpatriotic, from where I'm standing.

Sorry I couldn't get back earlier BB, but I was out attending a learning opportunity put forth by another one of those organizations you refer to as a joke. I must not be anywhere close to you, in terms of intellectual capacity, because I walked away from the seminar, knowing more than I did when I walked in. That kind of stuff cuts way down on the time I have to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable, but I hope it won't always be thus.

Guy with the mop huh!? Thats funny! He hasn't accomplished anything but increasing the size, and secrecy of our Government. he also hasn't come through on one major platform he ran on, proved himself quite the liar!

Congress has been Democratic majority controlled for 6 of the last 8 years, how could Bush get anything done a real conservative wanted done? he was a democrat at best, just like John McCain.

As for your comments about me and my ISA views.......you don't know me bud, k? I haven't missed a ISA expo in 3 years, missed limited chapter events in the past 2 years, donated to the ISA TCC with quite the handsome prize package, and have helped behind the scenes in anyway I could. I hold events at the shop with ISA CEU's available every year, for FREE. You want to start that discussion? Start a new thread, PM me, call me, email me. I dont have to like every phacet of the ISa, their testing is too easy IMO. And I certainly dont have to keep mum about it either. I am excited to take the BCMA coming up in the next year. I have heard that is quite the test!

Why don't you start writing down the ways that you would change Government to better help this country instead of launching attacks at me? Haven't seen that yet. I laid it out there and met all of your demands, lets hear something from the mop-guys side.

BB,
I knew it would happen and now it has,the personal attack.Liberals can't win on idea's so they resort to attacking personally.Absolutely pathetic and so very predictable.

The last thing I would call any of the illegal immigrants I have met is lazy. That is the last word I would use to describe them. You must not be getting very many up there in Boston. you obviously dont have much contact with recent arrivals from mexico if that is an adjective you use to describe them. Say what you will about the legality of how they got here but they sure as hell aint lazy.

some of the best workers i have met are from Latin America. great people, very honorable, and love to enjoy life. i have worked closely with many men from Guatemala and El Salvador in this industry.
the fact of the matter is, that these illegal immigrants are putting a great burden and strain on our country! doesnt matter if they are from Mexico, Ireland, or Antarctica. they need to come here the right way, be accounted for, pay taxes, speak english, and work hard LEGALLY.

do you not agree, that illegals are a major problem in this country?

I think that is a supply and demand issue. There is a demand for cheap labor. Funny I read about someone who decided after struggling with a task in his backyard. His solution? Run up to the corner, hire an illegal day laborer for $100 and voila his task was completed pronto. He didn't talk to the local neighborhood teenager to come and do the job, or call a local company that does this sort of work. He didn't use legal workers of any sort.

We see this in many of the green industry companies. Need some seasonal laborers? How about a big job that needs a few extra guys to get it done? Just drive up to the main street.

Supply, and, demand. From first hand experience, I know there are plenty of people working here with "legal" visas that a large corporations have fudged the information to obtain. None of these businesses gave a damn about American workers, they cared about their bottomlines. Call them illegal legal aliens. These are the same companies that will self-regulate for the benefit of all? Not likely.

The reality is that the free market still exploits. Steve Forbes likes to cite Walmart as a great example of the free market but seems to ignore the fact that they thrive through the exploitation of cheap labor both here and abroad. Is this the free market we want?

I have the answers to your post Humper

Close the damn borders and bring these indutries back to America! Products made by Americans, in America, for America. If we lower taxes on the "rich" and companies they would be able to run their businesses here again. It may be too late though, the damage may already be done to the point where they dont want to do business in or with this country any longer, who can blame them? They see 33% of Americans not paying any taxes whatsoever, and they see their tax rates being raised almost annually willy nilly.

the Natural resources in those countries runs North. We consume it and pay very little for it. We get the Oil, We get the Bananas, We get the shrimp, the lumber, everything. Using our power both militarilly, politically, and economically, we get it for very cheap giving little to the people who live there. This has been the case for 200 years. From the Alamo to NAFTA. Ever see a Banana plantation in Ecuador? Or what we done to the Mangrove swamps so we can eat cheap shrimp. People live in clouds of Pesticides under a gun, that might be Florida. It is only natural that the people follow the resources and the money North. More often than not they end up slaves here as well. In a packing plant, a strawberry field, or a hack tree service. Exposed to dangerous conditions, away from their families, and paid little or nothing. a 200 foot wall isn't going to solve your problems, its way deeper than that.

Do I see them as a burden to our country? Not really, i see them carrying a pretty big load of our easy lifestyle on their backs and getting little thanks in return. But we will pay for it, cant get nothing for free in the long run. we will pay.

Where? Which conservative minded person in this thread has attacked a Liberal minded person in this thread?

It's all Bill Clintons fault, he's the one that start the eco mess. Bush Inherited his problems, when he tried to do somthing about it they voted his plans down. When it came time to push back on terrorist it cost us 3 times as much to re out fit the military that Clinton downsized and highjacked funds from to cover his screw ups. Now we have the Bro before the Hoe, whats he do, gives good money to failed companies, increase the forces overseas, his 3 words of fame he'll be known for "cash for klunckers". Too bad the only car companies that made out on this was the overseas car companies. The American ones didn't have the cars to sell.

Good thing choco is sweet, his bitter after taste, will be seen the most after his term.

He did with this post. Its kind of like a paradox type thing. By saying what he did, he became guilty of his own accusation. Its kind of like killing someone because killing is wrong. That being said, I just went over this thread twice and couldn't really find any post where someone was attacking another.

As far as offering my fix, I don't have one. Never claimed to. I'm not running around saying the sky is falling in.

Working off those few parameters alone, I couldnt make a judgement. Not enough factors or demographics to make an educated opinion.
Do you have a link to more info from that poll?

What do you think of 1/3 of all americans not contributing to the tax system?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its not a poll, and I don't think demographics have anything to do with it. A bit more on that.

http://sociology.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/wealth.html

To say 1/3 of Americans don't contribute to the Tax system is ridiculous.
