Insure us

Im glad there isnt ONE thing you would change and you are 100% satisfied in the current situation. This means that you oppose Obamas health plan too then, right?

Noone said the sky is falling in, but we certainly arent happy with the direction this congress is trying to push this country.
 
I am definitely not 100% satisfied. I am mostly dissatisfied that the two sides involved can't get something going with the health care issue. One thing I don't like about Obama's health care proposal is the bit about making people buy it if they don't have insurance. You know like Mass did. I really don't want my govt telling me that I have to buy something from someone. Agriculture in this country really gets me too, our govt pays a lot of money to fat cats in Beverly Hills to grow a bunch of crap that isn't good for us or the land they grow it on. Boycott corn(mass produced and subsidized corn), that would shake things up.
I'm pretty sick of all the hypocrisy too.
For example, The other day I was hanging out with one of my good friends(an architect) and a debate not much different from this started. He was going on and on about how the stimulus did nothing for our economy. Well, we stop talking about it and I ask him, "how's work going"? "Pretty good" he says, "we're busy". "oh yeah, what are you working on"? I ask. The answer... three federal projects paid for with stimulus money. Just sayin'.
Is anyone involved in this thread working for a company getting contracts paid for with federal money?
 
I could have been at home staring at the phone waiting for it to ring, but instead I was clearing lots for houses that might or not ever be built for people that might or might not ever come to live in them!

the federal government bought me an eazy dumper, a chicken coop, and 25 fruit trees. You just got to figure out where to ask.

As for why some americans pay more taxes than others, thats simple. You cant ask someone who doesn't got anything, to pay anything. Unless you start throwing people in jail but thats fascist. They have nothing the government can take. The more crap you accumulate, not just cash, the more the government can ask for and have a cause to get something back, If you dont pay they can take some of that crap off your hands. the cars the clothes them computers and stereo systems the nice house the jewelry. If you dont want to pay taxes, just keep it simple. Life is easier simple anyway.

But if you asked for a flat tax for everyone, 30% of the people wouldn't pay anyway, and the government couldn't do anything about it except throw them in jail because they don't have anything else to lose or get taken.

Speaking of getting thrown in Jail, there are more prisoners in america than farmers. How is that for a free market system. People making money hand over fist for more prisoners, sick people, and war. Whatever happened to making a living making stuff and growing food.

having govt contracts that are keeping current employees busy is NOT the topic at hand.

Obama got this massive pork bill approved by convincing the general public, and Congress that it would CREATE jobs. It hasnt created 1.

Where are the NEW jobs that out of work americans need so badly????

I disagree. Govt. spending is at the heart of the health care debate. This sentence implies that you might be collecting some Obama bucks. See, it isn't all black and white.
 
i dont get the difference between a new job and keeping a job. Every job for me is a new job and one that I didnt have before. Im unemployed until im not. Right? Is obama supposed to think up totally new professions and carreers that havE never been done before?
 
We do some government contracts,and we were doing them before the current recession.I don't see how this has anything to do with the topic.Are you implying that everyone should work for the government?

Absolutely not, and for the record, I get no govt. money whatsoever and have health insurance.
 
I am not at liberty to discuss ANY current contracts that my employer holds, is bidding on, or has done in the past. if I was a co. owner it owuld be different.

And the differences are night and day. Mr Obama ran this last pork bill on the basis that it would put LAID off workers BACK TO WORK. Not keep currently employed workers busy. Thats a huge difference!
