I've been playing around with HRC cord for a split tail, been using the knut (amazing knot!), and have a question: since HRC cannot be melted by flame, how do you "fix" the ends? With other less hi tech ropes I always would melt the tip and wrap it with electrical tape and it would be a virtually permanent treatment. I've tried just taping the HRC tips, but the tape doesn't hold the core and sheath solidly for a long time.
Ideas? And BTW, thanks to all those who have helped introduce hi tech cords and hitches to cavemen like moi.
