how many of you rep jesus at work?

Why is Jesus and God present when things go right, miraculously, but not present when an airline goes down killing hundreds of people. He works in mysterious ways.

Where was God for 6 million Jews and 18 million Russians. Is he not a Red Sea pedestrian or Russian Orthodox?
 
do you ask the same question to your country? soldiers die in war. we are at war, a war for the souls of mankind; the bounty is far more precious than oil or rubber plantations (vietnam). and the war is much more deadly. it's not fought on the streets with guns in this country but it is in others. there are countries that people will drag you out in the street and behead you if they find out your a christian. now thats a war! and the power of peace and prayer is still winning. people still "get" the miracle. and to die a martyr...... well no matter how scary, god has a special place in heaven for those that do. the peace of the lord be on all of you. and i will talk to you guys sunday...... I'm going to see my son for the forth time in two months with no court battles, just a lot of humility and a whole lot of prayer from a whole lot of people, thank you lord. hey blinkster, i'm feeling the wind blow and i'm seeing the effects; for those of you that don't know i haven't been "allowed" to see my son but maybe six times in the last two years: this is no small miracle. peace

How is praying at work tree related?

Hiking boots, a topic in which a new thread is started every month, sometimes more, is a much more tree related topic than GOD.

Take it to OT. This would be the same as me starting a politics thread about taxes in the General forum, and saying its tree related, BS!

LOL.

I recall one church for example in southern Oregon, with several thousand in the congregation. It's casual, and people attend wearing boots, sandals and shoes.

Last month, I saw women with tatooes wearing boots in downtown Portland.

Boots are not related to tree care. Boots are related to people and feet.

Let's hear another one.

Now to agree with you ... personally I'd have started this topic in another zone like you suggested.
 
The original topic could have gone into Behind the Desk. The potential for a lawsuit is very important. Joshua does his thing before the clock is punched. So long as there is no implicit/ explicit expectation of prayer participation, off the clock, the this armchair lawyer says he's in the clear. Of course, nobody can be held accountable for any information that is shared/ spread off the clock, regardless of what is going on, IMALO.

Those that have been reading/ participating for a while knew right away that we'd end up off topic.

Good point. It can be a profitable business decision.

There are quite a few Christians who prefer to work together for a like-minded workplace.

That's not just a business subject, but I can also understand why they prefer that avenue.

Related, when I go to order Burritos or Kung Pao Chicken, the employees are generally oriental or hispanic. And was that by choice and design, or simply based on who happened to apply.

I, of course being only an armchair lawyer, don't know the specifics of the law, but I imagine that there is protection from mandated religious activities as part of employment.

Don't you figure that it is this way, in our earthly reality, whether you think it is good or bad?
 
for some of us prayer can affect our work day substantially and thats why i posted it here. it affects our well being and thought process throughout the day. isn't it safer to have a clear head going into a tree then one with thoughts full of worries and issues?
