HH 2

Vortex has 3.00% elongation at 880lbs. It feels static during a climb but because it is also a standard double braid it has the potential to absorb a shock load. I like knowing that.

Kmiii feels durable and the outer feels pretty thick. The 1/2 is actually a good size and feels thinner than vortex. Heavier tho

Cool, I think I might just order a few different types and see which works the best just needed a few recommendations to know what to order. Now for my next question what length does a guy need? Prob should have asked that sooner. [emoji6]

I use 4 feet of 10mm cord on Vortex with the 6 wrap like in the instruction sheet with HH

Now you guys have me questioning rope choice I was sold on vortex now I am thinking that KM3 might be the way to go as it is zero stretch.

I'm climbing on Cougar Blue and love it because it's so static. Apparently much less so than KM3, but I can't compare.
I have a HH1 and have recently found 10mm Volcano to be the absolute best on the Cougar.

I should add that I only climb on a stationary line and the few drt climbs I've done, I found the Cougar to be brutal on the hands.

Well what is the verdict now that you have had it a bit.

The 10mm Volcano on my Cougar Blue is perfect all the time.
No matter how I tie the hitch, rain or sun, it's always the same.
It feels as close to a mechanical hitch as I could imagine. When I tend slack the or ascend, the hitch is totally off with no drag at all. When descending it's smooth and predictable.

Hey, Jack! Thanks for posting the photo of your new Hitch Hiker 2. Still sticking with Beeline, I see.

That is a very nice custom tending device you've made for your HH2. I'm wondering if you really managed to somehow etch your name into the metal, or if that is something you photoshopped in there. I would be amazed and interested to know what kind of tool could be used to mark metal in such a small and accurate manner.

Thanks in advance for any answer you choose to give. Thanks also for the many excellent videos you've posted in the past on YouTube. I'm a big fan.

Thanks, Tim. It's Watermark PRO app.

The Hard-wire Tether for the HH2 is made from 1/8" welding rod. When I lean back, it doesn't spread and slide down the biner like a 'soft' tether does. Works for me ... much less set-back.

The 5/16" Beeline seems to work well with the Blaze ... so does 8mm Armor-Prus.

Love the wire hook as well good work man. Gotta love the simple things that a guy can do to make things easier.

Friday and Saturday I got a chance to run on the HH2. I was using kernmaster with the 9.3 epicord. Night and day compared to the old HH. Tends easier and more compact. I think my opinion is swayed because of the rope and cord combo. I'd recommend trying it.
