Merry Christmas everyone. Merry Christmas trees. Merry Christmas, Christmas trees. And May all your trees be more conical. Not just the spruces. The maples too.

That's hilarious. I had written ... Comical, then erased it. So yes, comical with the bear on the top or plastered in lights or just plain murdered and standing in our living rooms. But still, conical Christmas trees set an example for a shape we should admire and aim for.

Here's the rest of my tree. Not murdered or topped just strategically reduced. I murdered a few for Christmas in the past though, then the past two or three years had my son do the dirty work. Not too dirty.....we also had ham for dinner.

On the right. Looks more like the cedar on the left now. It'll be fine. 3 inch reduction cut.

Next year. A dug and potted tree, re planted on New Year's Day. Ground isn't even frozen yet too. Maybe I should plant a ponderosa pine in ontario to get ready for the heat.

That's the way to go! I'm all up for that! I did exactly that for 26yrs in Cali! Ponderosas are great trees, like you said, you can still plant, grounds still soft! Nice trim, BTW, just a bit off the top, maybe shave the ears! HAHA!!!
