Handbuilt Ascender

Paul, I love how you lead into that second option! If nobody else is using it maybe they wouldn't mind you borrowing it :pirata:...I don't think you would hurt it much if they wanted it back later.

Thanks guys. All I can say is that this is the point where patience and a degree of diligence comes into play...for me. Nothing is in stone, for sure, but the ball is rolling.
:)

those look good for conifers , but look a little aggressive for hardwood trees .

this is the one i use and it stays on my harness at all times I made a little clip showing some traversing a Little while back

Those tools are looking pretty neat , I'm always one for making our job more efficient.

I'm sure it's possible. I'll look into it. Wonder how many other people will want that?
Maybe the second cam could be a bolt on attachment option. It could be set up so the option is stock (body is threaded to accept the bolts) and the second cam would be an a deluxe option.

Stop reading my mind dude. Ok? Just knock it off. Enough's enough! Take off, eh?

Also, I'm a little surprised someone hasn't developed a glove style hand ascender, using webbing around the wrist and putting the cam right in your palm. Too sketchy?

Tony has always mentioned the wrist ascender, and immediately mentions the ear ascender thereafter. It has been a funny joke of his, but the first time I heard him say that (before the ear part) I envisioned exactly what you said in my head. Too funny. I sold my nose ascender. Didn't like it. Got all snotty.
