God Bless Freedom Warriors

Mean while in Portland another asshole opened fire on protesters. Guy shot a woman walking with a cane point blank in the face, he shot a few other women as well. I’m so sick of this crap, this extremism is without a doubt domestic terrorism if not warfare

Let me guess: the Portland protesters weren't the right kind of protesters. I bet the shooter is probably anti-mask/vaccine too.

The word I got was the folks who were shot, were organizers/safety volunteers to help stop traffic. https://www.portlandmercury.com/blo...red-from-shooting-at-black-lives-matter-march

It sure seems that not all Canadians agree with the information coming out of mainstream media outlets.

Well, I'm surprised!

Smith’s roommate told OPB, “He talked about wanting to go shoot commies and antifa all the friggin time. He was just a sad angry dude. … He talked about wanting to do this for a while. He was angry at the mask mandates, he was angry at the damned liberals.” He worked at Peninsula Iron Works, according to OregonLive.

The outlet reported that Smith’s brother said Smith, as OregonLive put it, “had grown increasingly angry at demonstrations set in the Northeast Portland neighborhood.”

Smith was also upset about city-wide protests, homeless people in the area and COVID-19 health “mandates,” and he was known to “collect guns,” the outlet reported.

Smith’s roommate Kristine Christenson told OPB that Smith let her stay with him for free initially, saying, “When I first moved in, he seemed fine. He was actually not that bad of a guy.”

She told the site he became more “radicalized” during the Donald Trump administration. She heard him “yelling racial slurs in his room and deriding women,” the site reported.

“As the years went on, he’s just gotten more and more radicalized. He got angrier and angrier,” Christenson told OPB. “I have not been comfortable living with him for a while. I did not feel safe with him, especially this last two years with the whole COVID thing. I think that made him even more angry.”

Christenson told OregonLive a similar account, saying, “He went from ‘FU police’ to ‘Blue Lives Matter’ in the last year.” She described him as “a very ‘fly off the handle’ kind of guy who made me uncomfortable.”

Canadians can be against both the freedom convoy and Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act.
Yes. As they can be both for and part of the convoy and still be against Trudeau. I do see that one thing they have in common.

I'm for the base message of the convoy (ending mandates), but totally against the method. They seem to have forgot the primary goal of a protest is to gain public support. You don't get that by disrupting the public's lives.

As for Fuck Trudeau...I can't recall a time in my life when I haven't heard Fuck "insert Prime Minister's name here". Every single democratically election politician in history has faced criticism and typically been scorned by half the population. That's just politics.

A handful of years have gone by, but when my son was about 6 it was a epic salmon run. Little did we know it was one of the last of the epic runs, the river waters got way too warm and most of the fish died before reaching their spawning grounds. The following summers were even worse.

We have limited ’public’ beach access even though there are miles of beaches surrounding the island. When we sold off our collective beach rights it created many many areas that are not accessible because behind the beach there is a shear bluff upwards of 300’, the only access (other than water) is to trespass on private beaches. But here is one more issue. It’s not uniform, so properties will own beach to high tide, mean tide, or low tide. Its untested in the courts of citing maritime law, meaning the sand might be owned the water is not, so just keep your toes in the water and its all good?

Now to the point, we were fishing for salmon on one of the few good fishing beaches that has public access. There are about 3-4 NARROW lots that own the beach then a few miles of public beach beyond with NO ACCESS. The kid and I were only one of a few people fishing, but more trickled in through out the day so we scooted over…. We needed our elbow room if you have ever seen a kid cast a big as hook and weight as far out as possible.
Pretty soon the beach was full, and we kept shuffling. Some fucken asshole came sprinting across their lawn, tripping on a plastic lawn chair. He was strapped with a pistol, and started screaming at my son and I for trespassing. He started pointing at some random chunk of wood out in the water (there were many old pilings) and some other rock on the edge of his grass. I lost my shit, and told him VERY loudly that I had no fucken clue what he was talking about, and he NEEDED to come down off his fucken lawn and just draw a line in the sand.
To everyone on the beaches surprise he did, dragging his heal he drew his damn line in the sand! The beach roared in laughter at this guys asnie behavior, and our foot prints were only a two feet on the wrong side of the line.
The very next day I drug my son back out with me to the same beach. He didn’t want to be confrontational but I made him tag along to the same area. Only difference was this time I printed out the property maps, and I didn’t stop at this guys imaginary line (now washed away)…. He immediately came running out again, and I marched right up to meet him on the edge of his lawn. He was still armed, and I loudly told him he needs to get back inside and start making phone calls as I pulled out the maps. I told him he needs to call the sheriff first, and then his two neighbors as we were about to trespass on their properties in a few short seconds. Afterwards we will be on public beach once more, and we will be returning on the same route. If he wanted he could have the sheriff meet us on our return trespass at 2:30 pm sharp to arrest me and my son.

He just stuttered and said well ok its fine with him if we cross his neighbors property (in a permissive tone) and there was no need to involve law enforcement. (The maps showed the water side of the property lines only came to the high water mark and he was full of shit all along)..

Lines in the sand are stupid.

yikes. i get so mad driving around lake Huron and having no access anywhere. Tiny slivers of access. The rest owned by people who are almost never there.

I used to guide fly fishing out in wyoming and public land was abaundant. breath of fresh air. grab a map and drive in any direction and adventure and cool water awaits.

I have since moved back to my home state of Pennsylvania where there is barely any good public water in the Southeast and everyone has a stick so far up their ass they can taste it. Needless to say I don't fish 200 days a year anymore.
