Glide saddle

Love my new glide. However i spent the last two days on a big removal and i found that after hours of sitting in the saddle my legs began to hurt and were slightly numb after about 8 hrs. After looking at my saddle i realized that the leg pads had slowly moved to the side and I would sit on the leg straps. Does anyone eles have this problem? Soulutions? comments?

I thought the pads on mine were too small for comfort. I took mine to an auto upholstery guy and had some oversize pads made. Much better except they rub together when I walk and make f*arting noises.

Those buckles slide quite a bit. I tacked a lot of the saddle down with stitches but the temperature difference between winter and summer here prohibits me from tacking the legs or the waste.

Putting the buckles on backwards/upside down allows you to 'double back' the webbing, and have the webbing exiting the buckle from the direction it entered. And it NEVER slips.

I like that. what kind of double face have you found that actually holds up?

Sorry, I hadn't seen this.
I haven't used the tape for that application but I like the thicker foam type.

hey guys.
i climbed in a glide for a year or two before i found the treemagic, and loved it. i found (still find) that the leg pads like to move - stitching might help there. but as for the buckles, the early glides (like mine) came w/buckles that lacked a spring to keep tension on the webbing at all times, and this caused major creeping in the course of a climb. the buckingham rep at ITCC pittsburgh (2004)hooked me up with the newer buckles, which do have the spring and don't self-adjust. stictching them in place works too, except when you want to put more/less clothes on. don't know how long y'all have had your glides, but for what it's worth..

Rg, just buy the harnesses. You gotta have more than one horse int the stable!

If you like the feel of the Glide I would suggest a Kolibri. It has a beefy construction similar to the Glide with much better leg pads. Both harnesses offer a ton of adjustment as far as moving your bridge position but the Kolibri also allows you to move your side dee rings. All in all a super comfortable harness.

If you prefer the feel of the Butterfly you might want to wait until you can try the TreeFlex. It is super lightweight like the Butterfly and has a similar bridge for multiple floating anchors but fits a ton better and allows for much more adjustments to fine tune your rig.
