Holy Crap balls!!!!!! I don't know how to even begin to put any of it into words. I took about a bazillion pictures, and will try to figure out how to post some up in the near future. Walking into the giant forest for the first time is mind blowing. And to look and walk around and see nothing but monsters! It's hard to take in. I camped at Stoney creek campground for 3 nights. Spent a day in the giant forest and Moro rock, then another day in kings canyon in the grant grove and the canyon. Both of which were super impressive. Then spent 5 nights in yosemite. The wife was getting a little glassy eyed when I'd talk about going into another sequoia grove, so I only went into mariposa. Mariposa and the grant grove were much more open than the giant forest to me. Allowed me to get a better view of the canopies. Overall my favorite sequoia was probably grizzly giant in the mariposa grove in yosemite. My favorite non sequoia is the Sierra, or Western, Juniper. Badass! Favorite pine was probably lodgepole, then Ponderosa, then Sugar.
Such an awesome trip. I can't wait to go back! So many incredible memories in incredible landscapes. At least I have a couple thousand pictures to hold me over for a little while.
Oh yeah, if anyone wants to take me climbing into some of these some time, just let me know!
