Gerasimek's Tree-mek

I wasn't to keen on that second to last piece. I forgot to grab my climbing gear to hang the chokers. I took time though and it worked good. It takes some practice to not pinch the bar with certain cuts. After a bit though I learned what NOT to do. Once I started to get a flow going, the setup felt very rewarding.

Tanner, can you tell me what rotator you have that 280 hanging from? I would like to have a little beefier rotator than I presently have now. And which number Tree-Mek is that you are showing? Congratulations on the nice rig there. 20160510_182501.webp 20160510_182501.webp 20160510_123646.webp 20160510_182525.webp

With the winch on there I'm at 14'. It travels folded up, but I pull the winch off I can travel unfolded and keep the grapple hooked up.

@Tanner28 thanks for sharing. Great pictures. I want one of those rigs. But not to cut down trees that people are complaint about there leaves getting in the pool, I don't do that;) That grapple is strong enough to grab that log with no slippage? That is impressive!!

Thanks Jerad, yours also! Great idea on the coupler block. Royce, when I first started playing with the machine at my house the first thing I noticed was how strong the grapple was. I have a rotating grapple on my swinger 2000 articulating loader and there is no comparison. I pinched a 3-4 thousand pound pine log at home to test it and the tines sunk in 3". Very strong. I know that there will be times that I would like a smaller more compact unit. Outrigger spread is wide for sure, but taking the tree down in the pictures I never once registered on my remote percentages. I can say I definitely like my margins.

I liked the idea of the winch on the crane. But after assessing all the blocks and other gizmos I have to hook it up, it had better really be needed. I'll get a picture of what it takes in iron just to hook up, not counting the time involved. I was surprised.
