General Liability Insurance Rates Raised?

If you had a spike in revenue due to taking on a lot of storm work, then your insurance company might be writing this years policy based on the increase in your revenue for the previous year. I know that my GL policy premium is based on the amount of revenue I'm anticipate generating in a 12 month period. It's always important to go over those details with your agent to make sure that you're not under, or over-insured.

Another way that TCIA and ISA could help is a group policy or even self-insured. We need to be able to differentiate the companies that are doing things right from the hacks that are keeping our industry in the realm of most dangerous. To me it's not that the work is most dangerous but how we've been doing the work.

So the increase was due to you going into PHC?
No we've been doing PHC for 30 years. I think it is LOTS of hacks spraying beetle around here.
What's your workers comp rate? Is california really 50%? Ours was 15.6% last year and went up to 17.9% this year because of "claims in all industries."
I know they obviously need to make money, but it sucks that companies without claims have still have increases.
In Colorado is 28% for repairing, spraying, and pruning (0106). I do use other NCCI codes: https://www.workerscompensationshop.com/workers_compensation_class_codes_numeric.htm

TH they do this kinda- ArborMax. The problem is most have too low a payroll to use it on the WC side. Then this year they weren't even competitive on GL.

Somebody needs to talk to those boys! The whole point of an association providing this is to give small businesses buying power. From the industry perspective it would help to lower the number of firms that operate without any or inadequate insurance coverage.
