Geezers 2009

Yeah, I was gettin' sick of everyone else snoring.

I hardly got any sleep at all! I had to rig up a throwline string from my sleeping bag to Jeff's hand. Every time he started snoring, I would shake my sleeping bag real hard and jerk the throwline....it worked for a while.

OK everyone, thanks for a great weekend! Every day had it's highlights, but the rec climb on Sunday was my highlight. Thanks to all the experienced climbers who helped me to keep myself (and others) safe!

The photos are up on Scotty's web site at http://www.outcctt.com There are 976 photos, so there is probably at least one of everyone who was there.

Kick up your feet and enjoy!

Peace, Steve

We hear your spork fight request. Of course, our agents will be in touch.

OK- here it goes:

My erasers off to the NC crew for Pencil Wars, the bros. Zimmerman showed alot of heart. Sorry for calling you special, Simon. Jeff, thanks for tolerating the O'Smoketower Ascent system, aka the "Half-Frog". Todd, you are amazingly strong. Stephan, thanks for taking the pay-off.

Let me also say that Cabin Five is the best. We have a champion, B. Duffy, who bought a round of beers for Limbwalker after we missed our first flight....thanks for getting us drunk, all the more ready to tackle the next two flights.

The Missouri crowd was pretty impressive. Good to see you again, Noel- I want to come visit sometime. Kristian, as always, you raise my spirit.

Scotty: what a comp! you outdid yourself! I didn't get to talk to you much, but it was good to see you again. TC- I'm so glad I saw you again.. You are a legend.

Arborham: Thanks for the rope bag to rub in everyone's face. The employee handbook is finished and I'll send it to you.

Tyler, Mrs. Morningwood: Our throwline judging was the best last year (sorry 09 geezers throwline judges- 08 was magical)

Thanks to everyone else I'm forgetting, see you in 2010

obryan out.

Great shots, Steve!

Thanks for getting them up so fast! It was like re-living the whole weekend again!

I liked the shot of the lake in the morning by the cabins the best.

Man, I miss that smelly old cabin with it's one blue table and two blue chairs....

Everyone ROCKED! uh just like my event. Thanks Jeremy, Jay, Chris and all the others who stepped up with the GRCS after their events were over. I say we get more people and 2 more traverse lines for next year. I'll bring the waffle mix and irons. I'd love to compete and I know I'll be ready but I already know where I'll be. For me this year's event had more heart than some of the International events I've been to but it's silly to compare. Being with all of you is what it's all about. Meg sends her love and we hope to see you at Duffy's for Internationals

Sorry for taking so long to get back here, but I had a small fall last Tuesday, and I'm just felling better now. I will post it in awakenings.

Any way it was a fabulous week. Yes for three of us it was a week, Thanks Whiz and Rich Field for putting up with me all week.

Whiz we have talked already about the kids climb, and I will tell you right now start picking your team and sign them up.

Also some of you might not of heard, but we will be staying in Windermere next year. With the after party at Janet's again. Thank you Janet.............

Thanks to all, what a team, WE DID A GREAT JOB AGAIN THIS YEAR..........

I would start with names and companies who gave there time and money to make this happen, but I know I would miss some one. (right Steve) So many folks to thank.. So let me just say THAN YOU to everyone who was there.

Any request for next year? Scott P asked to see if we could find some discounted hotel rooms and we are working on that now. We will have the cabins again next year with three already paid for................

Also do we want Tye dyed shirts???????? I should have more say next year.

With all my Love to each and everyone of you. You are all like my family, so for you all THANK YOU.
Scotty

Tye dye? Hells yeah!

My one request is that I get to bunk with old guys next time. I couldn't get any sleep for all the pencil shards flying everywhere... and Stephan has this really weird, incessant, driving snore.

And you guys really did do a great job. Someone already said it, Kristian I think, Geezers has more heart than a lot of other big comps.
