Because Trump told us so. During his speech on the Ellipse on J 6th Trump literally called on Pence to reject the certification of Biden's win and send the results back to the states? Soon after Pence issued a statement declaring he did not have the authority to do what Trump was asking him to do? Soon after this statement Trump fired up his angry mob claiming "this election was stolen from you, from me, from the country," and also falsely claimed the he won "in a landslide." Trump then went on to say "this is not the end, its just the begging" and stated the he "will never give up, we will never give up, we will never concede." Trump then urged his cult members to march on down to the Capitol Building claiming "if you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore".

You quoted my post and asked me how anyone with half a brain understands that the intent that day was to stop the certification of the 2020 election. I believe I clearly and concisely answered that question using known facts and quotes from that day..

True, we weren't having this sort of shit until he came on the scene, certainly not at the level we saw on 6th Jan 2021. But think about the size of that mob. What I mean is, we can't loose sight of the fact that Trump himself is not actually the problem. He is simply a trigger for a problem that already existed. A shamefully large chunk of this nation's population is just like him, uneducated, selfish, and bigoted. He totally resonates with them, even to the extent of outright hero worship, as a shining example of success and power, as someone like them who finally came along to represents their interests. One of the best quotes I have seen lately:
"Trump is a poor person's idea of a rich man, a weak person's idea of a strong man, and a stupid person's idea of a smart man."

Given Trump's ideas about 'the enemy within', he probably personally considers the assassin a 'patriot' and will quietly pardon him as soon as media attention moves on to other things. Farfetched idea? He wasn't bothered at all when his supporters made a noose and were screaming to hang Pence if they got their hands on him, smearing their feces on the walls, attacking and injuring law officers, etc. In fact his ego was eating it up, and he rewarded all these 'patriots' with pardons.

Your "facts" were nothing more than a recounting of what happened that day. Everyone knows those. What I asked you, and anyone else feel free to chime in, is how was that mob going to change anything meaningful within the rooms they entered let alone overthrow the government? They had no knowledge or plan!

This is not the old west where the cattle baron can ride into town with 50 of his ranch hands, shoot the sheriff and mayor and, bam, they have a new town government.

There is absolutely no way, zero chance, it was going to produce anything other then what it did. Death and destruction and bunches of people behind bars. The collective response that believe otherwise is over dramatized political bullshit, designed to inflame and shock. Pure garbage that any honest person would have to admit if they could clear their minds long enough to think straight.

I don't know that much about him, except that he was democratically elected (I don't live there). I answered your question, even though I'm not sure what it had to do with mine. Will you answer the question I asked of you?

Duh. Interesting statement. You mean a recounting of the facts? Anyway, you seem to be missing the point entirely. Whether they had any real chance is not the issue. The issue is the whole big lie, the 'stop the steal' BS that resulted from Trumps huge delicate ego not being able to handle losing, with him basically fomenting the riot and gloating over it instead of showing any interest in preventing it. Same egotistical idea of a 'landslide victory', a 'mandate from the American people' that he tells himself this time, when he basically barely squeaked by Harris with only a 1.5 percent margin (and don't forget she is black woman in an extremely racist country. Trump would probably not have won if a white man, basically anyone but Biden, had run against him).

What prior post are you referring to because I just searched through the last 10 pages and can find no post directed at me in which you ask "how was that mob going to change anything meaningful. Nothing?

On a serious note, you seem to be imagining things, making stuff up, or simply loosing your shit..Either way you might want to seek some professional help.
