first helm cam project, simple removal off willow

Tree styler,

Although you'll surely catch drag for ppe I thought the vid was really strong. Also, your technique, saw and "movements" are really sharp. Shows you're comfortable in your style and it's seemingly quite efficient. Keep up the great videography ...and climb safe.

Any reasons for leaving the stubs behind? Looks like your swing would of worked perfectly without them.

Or were they there to prevent over swinging?

Sweet video, looking forward to getting an HD cam as well for cool vids like that one!!

I am a one man band that also hires out for ground men on occasion, either throw small stubs at him till he gets the point or hire someone else and show your buddy where all his beer money is going!!

Stubs were left to prevent overswinging indeed. There were severall branches that almost landed halfway the neighbours garden and hit the fence. The last pieces that has the longest fly were blocked by these stubs.

At last we left a peace standing there because the customer redicecided to leave it to grow in it's smaller size.

This pulley is rated up to 71 KN. I mostly use the big ISC block and the treemagineers DMM block with the good rigging lines from Yale industries.

For places like this were there's not much heavy wood I mostly work with lighter equipment (cmi pulley and old climbing line) just to save the good rigging kit.

For this job this setup was still overkill and the big blocks would have been extreme overkill and probably the branches would have broken off with all this extra load ;-)
