Millions of kids going go school every day.
(going by memory here): and "approximately 1 in 5 kids age 13-18 experiences a serious mental disorder at some point in their life"
It only takes one of them with a chip on his shoulder and access to a firearm to wreak horror and (briefly) convulse a nation.

Children shouldn’t be unsupervised with firearms: that’s a parent’s responsibility.

My Children aren’t unsupervised when around firearms.

hsell...you're weaseling! AND...you still haven't answered my question!

Answer it...or get ready for a time out. Not a threat...I get weary of impolite discussion. Part of a civil discussion is listening not just talking

In a post your use of 'you' pointed in my direction. That's offensive

The ease of getting guns needs to stop. Notice...I'm not saying nonpurchases or seizure

I'm getting sooooo weary of how people look at 2A with only one interpretation. But then accept that the rest of the Amendments can be reinterpretted to fit modern sensibilities There is much more than only 2A

@hsell

Are you making a comparison of the students who organized today's marches and Hitler Youth? What's your point?

My point is they are being lead: the victim’s funerals weren’t even arranged before there was a narrative being pushed.

Can you honestly say The timing of all this doesn’t stink?

These students didn’t organize this on their own: to think they did is absurd.

Buses don’t fund themselves.

You're listening to too much conspiracy theory

If non students are helping out so what. All I've heard is skepticism of the abilities of students. Would you throw a wet blanket on your kids if they were enthusiastic about a project or issue? That's a real question, please answer

It hurts to think how many students...and families...have been effected by gun violence. What our society is doing now isn't working. Time for a change. Actually way past time for a change

If there were an employee who continually got to work late or continuously caused damage to
Your client's property would you make changes? Answer...

1. I’ve yet to meet a high schooler who owns a bus, much less a bus line.

“If non students are helping out so what. All I've heard is skepticism of the abilities of students. Would you throw a wet blanket on your kids if they were enthusiastic about a project or issue? That's a real question, please answer”

2. I don’t have to throw a wet blanket on my kids because my kids are children & are focused on children things. They also haven’t been given a platform to speak on a subject matter which they don not understand.

“It hurts to think how many students...and families...have been effected by gun violence. What our society is doing now isn't working. Time for a change. Actually way past time for a change”
3. If it hurts you so much, what are you doing to curb the gun violence in Chicago, where firearms are already heavily regulated?

That’s the problem Tom, the hypocrisy is clear.

Chicago isn’t called the Windy City because of Wind, but because the Political Scene Blows, Per the Residents.

Gun Free Zones are a Falsehood: why?
Because only law abiding citizens will respect those zones.

It’s already illegal to kill.

Heroin is already illegal: but Heroin is kills way more annually than all guns.

“If there were an employee who continually got to work late or continuously caused damage to
Your client's property would you make changes? Answer.”

4. I would hold that employee responsible for his or her actions, as I did with such employees.
That’s the problem, no one wants to except responsibility for their actions.

If you cut a tree, & it mistakenly falls on a house, you accept liability as the business owner who’s employees incorrectly cut a tree.

Responsibility & Accountability are what’s lacking.

Figure out a way to put that back in Vogue & please stop threatening me with repercussions if I don’t answer questions you ask on a forum.

You know, it's very easy to respond that the kids and other victims have had enough because it's them that are getting mowed down at these shootings.

But if one considers the myriad other random or planned acts of murderous violence from Jababaland North Dakota to the famous crime rate cites of Chicago, LA, Baltimore, etc. it's clear to anyone that it's a sick sad world. Where did all these black market illegal guns come from in the first place? More laws won't help with those that dont abide them in the first place but what else can be done?

The problems are systemic poverty, mental health, poor education and other opportunities, the list could go on...

The rallies and protests aren't to debate the gun laws or lack of. They're to demand change from what we have to what is needed.

I get a kick out of criticism on the kids that won't allow conservative voices into the issues. They are organizing AGAINST the conservatives, period.

We attended a rally yesterday. It was awesome and my impression is that these kids aren't going to give up, only get stronger and louder. Go kids go.

Your numbers are wrong.

Furthermore,

The 2nd Amendment is still my Right, & until there is a Constitutional Change your Opinion is irrelevant.

You continue practicing your 1st Amendment Rights & I’ll continue to practice my 2nd Amendment Rights.

I must admit,
I find it Ironic this is the most popular discussion on a Tree Forum: I joined to grow my Tree Care Business.

I never knew I would be defending Constitutional Rights.

It further troubles me that so called members promote anti-Constitutional ideals, but no longer offer substance related to the Original Subject matter of this forum.

My Bad-
68% (not 70%) of Americans support stronger gun control
3% own 50% of the guns in America
Less than a 1/3 of Americans own guns. (78% don't)
Like or not, them's the numbers. The majority has had enough, and changes to our gun laws are coming.

" It further troubles me that so called members promote anti-Constitutional ideals, but no longer offer substance related to the Original Subject matter of this forum." WTF does that even mean?

Yeah that bothers me too. Am I not bringing enough to the table on the tree care front here? Gosh, my bad.

I started this thread on this forum. It's exactly where I intended to post it, exactly for the topic being discussed.
The right can whine as much as they care, as they always do. The kids own the future and nothing we say or do will change that.
This nation owes it's very being on radical, revolutionary change. It happens. Let it, help it, or simply get out of the way (Or move to Russia..as they used to say).

Yes,
Because the things you advocate for are already in place in the Russian Federation.

Oh the Irony.

Attacking and questioning the motives of these kids is pretty pathetic bro. Like most of the 2nd amendment wing-nuts attacking these kids, I imagine you have never actually had someone with an AR trying to kill you. It might be time for some folks in this country to sit down, shut the fuck up, and listen to these kids. They have real-world experiences with gun violence that most of us don't. We all might just learn something. Who knows?

I’m not attacking bro, simply pointing out the Fallacies of this whole charade.

Still, to this day, it doesn’t seem anyone on the supporting side of this gun control debate wants to hold those accountable for not doing their respective jobs, when this was a known suspect.

Multiple Agencies.

Multiple Shootings, these people were known issues.

But your cool with further relying on those same Agencies to do it right next time, to provide you & your neighbors additional securities.

I find it humorous that everyone so desires to believe this script without questioning the true motives.

The Liberals/Progressives accuse the Conservatives of being Sheep, but the Left is the side who Blindly follows the Propaganda of the Media & their Supported Politicians.

This is all while forgetting the 20th Century Atrocities which were started in this very same manner!

And when someone points out the parallels, they are shouted down rather than a true debate occurring.

Divide & Concur has already been completed, but Damn the Truth, right?

What is needed? Enlighten me.

Pretty sure I know your answer, but it's fun to see you admit it.

I thought this was a march to call for an end to school violence or possibly a more generic "call to action".

Let's stop pretending. OF COURSE this is all about "debating the gun laws or lack thereof". Except they don't want debate. Sort of like climate change, the time for debate has ended, amirite?

If they truly had the courage of their convictions they would work tirelessly to convince enough of their fellow citizens (and thus legislators) that true change on guns was needed. Then they would actually amend or abolish the 2nd Amendment. But that's really hard. And I kinda sorta doubt they'll go that route. Forever a skeptic.

PS: The kids' loudest cheerleader/enabler CNN sure seems to think this movement is about gun control.

But, But, those numbers don’t agree with what was stated multiple times earlier: how can this be?

Furthermore,
It is Hilarious to think that everybody who participated in that call is truthful.

“Naw Man,
I lost all my guns in a fishing accident last year. I don’t even have a B.B. Gun anymore. “
