Dump hoist trouble shooting?

I cleaned up all the wire connections even though they looked good. Took a wire brush to all the rust areas and did a whole grease job.

Seems to be moving a bit smother. Could be in my head. Got it booked in for later this spring. I'll have them give it a once over then as well.

Lot of good tips in this thread. Thanks a bunch
check the selenoid is intact I had one where the post was broken inside and would heat up causing breaker to pop on lifting the bed
The heavier the load the faster it pops.
I had the pull the nut and wire off to find it
Point being just cleaning may not be enough
I don’t know if you did or didn’t just sayin
If you take the connections apart and clean , inspect you may find easy fix and save a mechanic bill

I remember where I worked in my early 20s, and the head mechanic’s first question every time something was wrong with the big horizontal grinder…

- “Did you check all the stupid easy stuff yet?”

That has stuck with me ever since knowing him. It might sound silly, but quite often the fix is $free.99 instead of $399.00

A tool that tells a lot is a digital multi-meter; Harbor Freight has adequate ones for under $30...less with the unending coupons

My weak suit is electricity and even worse...electronics.
With a liitle understanding of the flow of electricity the MM can tell if there is no, full or reduced power.

Plumbing is simple. There's a puddle that will focus you on a leak.

leaking electricity leaves an invisible cloud of electrons that need to be tracked using the MM
