Double braid ring-N-ring

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I have the hardest time with Blaze for some reason. Poison Ivy is way easy to bury.

Hey, Nick thought Ricky was creepy so now you've got to put up with Stephen!

I personally like the pain and suffering of a velocity splice. We have a Stanley Longstaff ring-n-ring from velocity that I love- and would love to make. I just don't have the slightest idea of where to begin.. Any help out there. Nice pics Taylor and John.

Did I mention that the Longstaff Ring-n-Ring was about 36 inches long and the cover is really smooth? Someone out there has to know, what are the measurments and steps?

My order from Knot and Rope Supply will be soon, I have tons of rope to splice. I have a tenex ring-n-ring, used it for years. No problem picking. I have sewn somw color coded 1 inch tubular webbing over the tenex on another ring-n-ring to give it high vis and ease of differentiating big and small ring at distances. My favorite ring-n-ring I have spliced so far is an adjustable FFC made out of 10 and 8mm Bee Line. I would love some suggestions for projects, with velocity and Ultra tech.

I don't recommend building a ring/ring with double braid, unless it's a really really long one. Over shorter distances, the cover/core relationship doesn't equalize.

I didn't use the DB ringer, now it's a pull toy for my dog. I made one of the 16 strand friction savers described in this thread, it was much easier to splice and works great...

I am finding the diagrams and information in the Samson Splicing guide hardcopy to be outstanding, highly recommend it. I am going to go for a 4 footer. Nick, how are you linking the direction text up like that in your post as opposed to the treebuzzflatpostblahblahblahgobbledygoop?

Go to the page you wanna link you, copy the URL. Now type up your post, then click the "Continue" button below. In the "Edit some more" box, click the "URL" button. When the window pops up, paste the link into the window, hit enter, then type the text that you want to be the underlined link that appears in the thread. Hit okay again. This puts the text and the link at the end of the post. Now just cut and paste it where you want it to go.

love
nick
