Congratulations President Barak Obama!

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

We wouldn't have an Obama if there wasn't eight years of failure. Get with the program and start helping the rest of America fix this mess.

Stop trying to blame Bill Clinton. He did the best he could. And your persona as the patron saint of battery acid is unflattering.
Best wishes,
Phil

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Phil, America has finished - by mandate - the worshipping and cannonizing of nitwits, liars, and thieves. Time to use your brain...parts of it...for the first time. Either you're with America, or against it (borrowed from your icon, so sorry).

It's entertaining to witness the beginning of the right wing starting to worry about having to legitimately work honorably and ethically for once. To pay a fair share of taxes, to uphold moral standards aside from "I'm not gay" speeches after hustling for tricks in men's room stalls, to maybe even enlist in community service or (not holding my breath here) even the armed forces.

In the words of a past unpopular president, "Mission accomplished!"

Amen to that.

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why I'm leaning more to the left,

Democrats never do anything wrong... EVER.

and

Republicans are really at fault for everything. Including my getting this nasty cold today.

Is that the part of my brain you would like me to use oak?

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a moment, watching the inauguration and hearing the speech, I believed things were going to change and americans would roll up their sleeves and move foreward. Reading this thread have misdeconvinced me again that its business as usual. C´mom, its four years to the next crossroad - be positive!!!

I think the views expressed here are usually leaning heavily to one side or the other. I don't think they represent the sentiment of most Americans. I know my sleeves are rolled up.

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't the 'left' that elected Obama, it was the majority of Americans acting like Americans and being American. Either that or there are more lefties living and working here than righties?

Re: hold on to your shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Listening to Obama's announcement regarding the three orders (or whatever they're called) he made it clear that they will still be obtaining information but the methods used will adhere to the Army Field Manual and that prisoners are going to be treated in accordance with the Geneva Convention. Detainees will be tried but now it will be under U.S. law.

Therefore, the war on terrorism is on, but will be played by the rules the world and more importantly the U.S.A had agreed to for decades. The enemy will no longer have more ammunition to justify their actions. They have enough as it is.

He did what he said he was going to do. A promise made during his campaign and delivered now that he's in office. There's a change for ya. A politician doing what they said they'd do!

We have some major issues that need to be address that will involve some pain for everyone. The real focus that we need is our individual part in reviving the economy.

Very well put.

Wow no long page/half page interjection. Must be tired or you really hit that one on the head. I really hope he does a lot of what he proposed but only time will tell.

Last time I check very few to no one has died from water boarding....

[/ QUOTE ]

That is the second dumbest thing I have ever read about anything ever.

Where exactly did you do your "checking"?

The public library?

Honestly, "very few to no one" is a dumb thing to write in an otherwise well written diatribe on why Obama is already failing.

Oh Snap!

Why is it always the christian conservatives that elicit gay sex in public restrooms?

It would be more entertaining to witness welfare recipients get off their butts, get a job AND pay taxes!

I agree. You just described the MBA's that bankrolled Bush's rise to power.

The inuaguration didn't cost taxpayer money, it's all donation.

Can you see Russia from your front porch too?

He has to fix what your prez did, probably impossible but from an American citizen who's children and grandchildren will have to burdon the Bush deficits and mistakes, he could be gay, communist, muslim and a transexual and it will be better than what just left D.C.

and you are what--a atheist???

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe the correct way to pose that question would be "and you are what -- an athiest???"

The answer is no.

I believe in a higher power that can upgrade my seat from coach to first class. A higher power that allows a police officer to give me a warning instead of a ticket. A higher power that kept the camp counselors asleep while I snuck out of my cabin and lost my virginity at 15.

What do you believe in?
