Components of a Self-Advancing Knee Ascender (SAKA)

Richard,

Once you get the SAKA dialed in I understand you recommend an Ashley Knot. What do you do with all the excess bungee? Just trim it off?
Hi Steve,
Is yours the last version with washers to prevent the bungee from getting pulled in? With that version a regular stopper knot will do, I hung my entire weight on that bungee. Prior to that I had someone break two of the small carabiners and then put enough weight on the connection to a regular stopper knot to pull it into the end of the tube a short distance. To prevent that from ever happening I added the washer. I then tested it to 450 pounds when the bungee failed.

Yea Steve, I have mine set up so when the SAKA is attached to my Rook, and lift my knee to the point that I would take a step, there's just a few inches of tension still left in the bungee. If that makes any sense to you. Let me know how it works out for you. I can't believe how nice climbing has become since I got mine.

Got the cube last week since it was on sale, but haven't used it yet. Looking forward to using it on hikes into the woods.

Hey Steve, I told you that you'd love the SAKA, especially after you got it dialed in! It's such an energy saver. I'm curious about the washers that you and Richard (yoyoman) were talking about. I purchased mine directly from Richard so I didn't have any washers on mine. Could you take a picture of them and post it or PM me what they look like? Thanks, Buddy...
