Compact Bulldog Bone

LOL! Yeah, I sometimes let my ropes get real bad before I throw them in the wash. But modern ropes are so nice and look like new after being washed. If you happen to have a front load with a powerful spin rinse, the rope comes out virtually dry.

I had no choice, Pine tree storm damage both times. There was sap running everywhere.
Timberwolf. Massage some into the worst areas and let it sit for an hour, then add more TW to the detergent bin and let it rip on the hottest setting. Did this for a month this March. Like getting a new rope daily.

Used to wash mine all the time until our washer kicked the bucket. Now we have the High Efficiency Top Load. It sucks! If it doesn't get the soap out of clothes I'm scared to put ropes in it. Trying to talk my wife into putting it up for sale on Craigslist and going back to an old school top load, or a front load. I just keep hearing about mold issues with the front loads. Sorry for the derail.

In the UK top loaders went out with the mini skirt and never came back. No mould problems that I know of. Most people wouldn't even know what a top loader is. I remember my gran had one.

I can't see how a TL could possibly be as effective at washing as a FL since it can use gravity to tumble the subjects. Am I missing something?

TL is one of the most effective buzzers I know. He is one of the best! I just think it is incredibly inconsiderate of you to openly bash him like this...It's okay TreeLogic, I won't let Paul push you around!

;););) Who is FL by the way!

But yeah, we had an old Top Load that we got from someone and they probably got it from someone else etc....It kept going and going until it didn't and it leaked all over the floor. We got one of the High Efficiency Top Load and I can't tell if it is cleaning the clothes or just making weird alien noises. I've never used a Front Load, but the Top Load are fun:frenetico:

Too funny Kays. I will now forever wonder if TL = topload or treelogic. And FL = frontload or florida.
Yeah, the HE Top Loads make some crazy noises. Cross between an airplane and time machine.

I have used the bathtub, canola oil, and hot water to work out some sappy spots on my ropes/lanyards. Now I have a dedicated lanyard with a rope grab for working pines. Doesn't the BdB tend to work better than hitches when running on a pitchy rope? But I guess anything sticks when sap is involved. I really do need to get a BdB! It's just really slow right now and the rope wrench is making me money but not enough to allow me to spend on improvements, just necessities right now! I do have a signed disclaimer burning a hole in my pocket:(.

I had sap really cover a rope in one spot and the bone was not moving over it so I applied more pressure to top arm and flew down off of it. Whoooaaa! Time to break out the washboard!
I had this a bunch in March 2014 while flying the Rope Runner. Huge gobs of pitch.
I found 2 reliably safe techniques. 1) If standing on structure, hold the rope above my multiscender and collapse it through the short section of pitch. 2) If suspended in free air, I grab a footlock but with my legs sort of straight so I can squat while collapsing through the pitched area.
This is what makes these new mechanicals with straight rope path design so great. Not only can they tend and glide up, but when unloaded, they can glide to you. A toothbrush and alcohol makes short work of cleaning them while the rope is in the FL. (y)

I didn't get to mess with the demo Gordon sent me. It was raining today. Now I'm way too lazy to mess with it. Supposed to work tomorrow so I'll likely carry both. I thought the rope washing posts were interesting. Can't say I've ever washed this particular rope. Maybe I will and see if that makes a difference also. Wish there was another boner close and we could do some climbing

I cant really tell. There seems to be some contour on the arms and on the spine. Its not symmetrical enough to be wear. Almost like its been ground a little. There is also obvious wear there and on the bollard and links. As this is a demo I suspect its a Frankenstein of other used prototype parts. So to clarify, yes there is wear as well as some probably grinding.
