Compact Bulldog Bone

I think I shall plug my Bulldog Bone : )
The friction links on the Bones are very high quality carbon steel and seem to stand up to wear very well.
The adjustable Bone can be adjusted while the rope is installed, and can make very fine adjustments with a turn of the 10-32 machine screw.
A RE nano swivel can be installed directly on the Bone.

Any bonedoggs run marlow venom 11.8 in thier bones? Any other lines on your mind you love the bulldogg on? Can someone compare venom to something they've climbed? I have a bunch of climb lines , what the hills one more!

The last few posts intrigue me as I'm also looking for a new line to run in one of my CBDBs.
Presently I'm running some Yale Valkyrie 11mm through the new adjustable bone and Sherrill Tree Tachyon Surge through a bone with the 5/8" bollard at the top. At first it concerned me a little that the top arm would collapse when unweighted in the tree, but I find they catch me reliably when give a little weight back to my harness/DMM Rhino. This seems to be the sweet spot for me where tending is almost effortless and releasing too is easy and very smooth. The Valkyrie is an awesome climbing line, in my opinion, as it is extremely static, very strong and lightweight. As far as I can tell it's also no longer made or sold anywhere. Maybe because the core is a combination of Technora and Spectra and I think self abrasive. I used some for a replacement rope bridge and when that became fuzzy on the outside, I replaced it and pulled out the core finding quite a lot of powdery fiber.
So I think my question to Gordon and users of the CBDB: Is anyone using Sterling HTP or similarly static lines for work positioning?

I have no experience with the Sterling HTP. My favorite remains the purplish colored Cougar. You might like also the 7/16 KM III

Which is purplish gordon? I'm thinking and I know orange, red/grey/yellow affectionally known as puke , and the blue.. I always forget how good cougar is..

Do not try to adjust the adjustable Bulldog Bone bollard tighter while the Bone is weighted. The jamb nut can be forced against the baffle when the Bone is weighted, and if then the adjustment screw is turned out it will not tighten the bollard gap, but rather unscrew the adjustment screw out of the bollard .

Here is a picture of what has been referred to as the BDB XL, which seems to suit this Bone. It has a 5/8" dia. x 0.58"wide steel bollard from a size 80 roller link on the top arm, with a short pivot length and short Hook end arms like the bottom arms. This Bone is a dedicated Vortex use SRT device. I have removed a wee bit of material (0.035") at the snap swivel link, which makes it easier to load the fat Vortex line. It also has a stainless steel and nylon standoff at the top of the spine to hold the shorter top arm from collapsing too much.

Gordon, does the nano work with the BDBXL?

I just checked TreeStuff.com and Blue Cougar is available for $1.19/ft. That's kind of weird that you couldn't find it. I just typed in Blue Cougar Climbing rope and it popped right up. Huh!
