We dropped cougar. The combination of long lead times, difficulties with availability, minimum orders, inconsistent braid quality leading to varied splicing difficulty and slow sales were all reasons.

Although I think there might still be an open PO or two. So we should get one more shipment at least, eventually.

I know there are a ton of quality ropes out there but I just don't have the money or time to buy a ton of ropes to figure out what I like. I already threw a bunch of money away with the sterling work pro 11mm. That's been cut into a bunch of pieces for several people who wanted to try it. Maybe aztec will be my new choice. I like that pretty much ok

TreeStuff has that new Samson 11.8 mm line that seems like it will stay more round than yale 11.7s like Aztec. Not sure how that plays out with a zk2 wrench or HH, but with mechanicals I think it helps consistent performance on long climbs. That was my experience with my cougar line before I cut it in half by accident like a dumby

Admittedly I have no experience with that rope and i really to run into some to try sometime. Even tho I love Yale.

From a business case I can understand. Any chance TS can help us cougar-bone lovers (is that ok to write? :-) ) find a "close second". As Steve noted, the process of buying potential alternatives and the expense of failure just sucks.

The Yale 11.7s. I have Cougar blue and Puke but I have no issues with the 11.7s and I believe our resident Yale expert @Worthaug said the Cougar lines were modeled after the 11.7s.

We updated the out of stock status to reflect that more was coming.

I think the Yale 11.7 lines are excellent. I haven't climbed on voyager/tangent myself but my friends that have really like it.

Is this going to be the last batch of Cougar ropes that TreeStuff ever obtains, or have you folks changed your minds about dropping it from your lineup?

If it is going to be the last batch you ever obtain for sale to customers, can you give us some sense of how much of it will be coming in, and when?

Also, if the supply is severely limited, is it possible for a potential customer to put in a pre-order in order to allow that customer to "lock in" access to this rope?

Thanks in advance, Nick, for any answers you choose to provide, and for updating the web site listing.

Tim
