Compact Bulldog Bone

Haha! That's why I run one rope, one bridge and one non-swiveling multisender. Everything stays were it is supposed to be 100% of the time with no system damaging cross-ups possible.

So yesterday I was a total yard sale. Forgot a bunch of my gear at home, and wound up having to borrow rope for a second TIP. Set a line with Aztec, put the bone on it, and it slipped under body weight. With the same bollard I use for tachyon. Totally shocked. I guess those Yale ropes are a bit thinner. So then I replaced that line with a piece of vortex. Worked pretty well. A little too squishy, nice in hand, but I prefer my kmiii. It was interesting to get on other ropes though.

But what I really realized was that with just one swivel to attach to on my bridge, I need that nano swivel on m'bone if I want to have two systems going. Having the bone non rotatable is totally bogus. Dammit. New gear to buy.

Just did the nano mod a few weeks ago myself....I'm digging it so far.

What bollard are you running with the KMIII mac? 1/2"? If I remember correctly this rope doesn't work well with hitches right? So pretty much purely a mechanical rope?

I am still in the market for a new rope and I flip flop all the friggin' time. I'm beginning to annoy myself : )

Call me crazy, just don't call me late for supper.

I think the 5/8 bollard comes stock, it is as it showed up. I have the half inch kmiii though. That bone runs from tachyon to kmiii. And as for hitches, I was using the wrench today on kmii with 9 mil epicord. And it ran beautifully. Coulda used one less wrap on my hitch, but that's user error.

How does it perform, Gordon?

I've always thought two bones that connect together would be ideal for dSRT-like what johnnypro suggested for the rope runner in a recent post.

Mac, I am not sure how much it weighs, because my wife left the ounce scale on the stove top while cooking, and if i complain I won't get fed!

Gavin, it tends well and releases like a dream with the 1/2" bollards installed. This franken Bone is a full 1-1/2" wide, which works well
with the double strand links. My though of course is to run three ropes through a floating overhead anchor ala Johnny Pro for 3D positioning.
Probably not practical, and yes it would be better to have each rope with its own release.

It looks good but I think the versatility of being able to separate a double bone into two single bones would be the ultimate for functionality.

Anyway, I use the bdb exclusively for work daily and can't imagine going back to the wrench. It has improved my productivity immensely.
