Swing's not allowed in this thread anymore! :nocausagracia:

See I hate to say it but I miss the old tree buzz. I can't follow anything through tapatalk. I know it had to be updated but this much? This is why I suggested the FB group. The RR group added so much to it. When a topic comes up you discuss it in its own thread. Here I can't follow the topic. Next someone is asking what sandwhich they're going to make.

Most buzzards are old school Casey....they don't like social media....don't know what they are missing...it's so interactive and fast paced...very easy to discuss stuff.....but on FB when time passes it's gone, basically lost well unless it's archived ...here you can search and go back...pros and cons....

I like tapatalk. I do NOT like how this thread has grown in to an all but unusable tool. Don't get me wrong, this thread has all kinds of awesome info and laughs a plenty....completely invaluable info here. Crucial stuff. However, it's 500,000 pages long and specific information is all but impossible to find. I catch myself having to somewhat remember how a post was worded so I can do a super ninja search and hope to find the right sapling in this forest and I've been following this since like page 9. If only we had known it was going to become the monster that it is, we could have started multiple threads like:
Rope expierience report
Mods
Tether expierience report
Troubleshooting
Pics and videos
Safety concerns
Sammich eating
The info would be easy to find.....too late now. If you are interested in buying a bone and want to get the dope from those going before you, you had best buy a case of beer and a 3 ring binder with dividers to take notes.....mark out 2 days on your calander and make a sack lunch or 2.

Forum threads are not the best way to store and retrieve info... FB is worse... And have you read the small print? Really?

A wiki would be much better for collating and finding info. But needs people took curate.

Regarding the BDB and HTP...

Odd, i do not have grooves cut out for fatter rope. But i don't think that would make a difference.

I believe that it more than just the bollard size but I have really studied this yet since mine worked flawlessly from the start. My thought is that while the larger bollard should give you more friction by first impressions and single thought processing (no disrespect intended). For every action there is a reaction and my thought is that since the bollard is larger it makes contact sooner, thats a given. What I think may be happening next is that because there is less room to move that the upper link may not be pivoting around as much. I think this is a very small amount of less movement but this in my opion would cause the "S" shape to be lazier by a small fraction. We all know how important that upper "S" is, the friction that it causes is part of the reason we change pivot points and modify lowers. The RR is very similar and is also being dialed in and modified by many of us. Just my humble opinion but the next time your BDB or RR doesn't grap right away look at where your hand goes and what you do to correct it.

No grooves cut in mine either.

So I switched out to the 5/8" bollard to try on HTP and as I expected it had no more hold on 11mm HTP than the 3/4" bollard...as in none.

It's not that I badly want to use the DBD/HTP combo as much as it bugs me that it works for Tyler and is virtually a free fall for me.

Try making ur bollard "fixed"- as in gluing it so it doesn't roll or some other way from keeping the bollard from rolling.

Mine rolls, but I was thinking about it for the users who are questioning why their bone isn't grabbing like it should.
Think of it like a Roperunner (how it has fixed bollards). You will eventually come to a point where u are seeing excessive where on the bollard, but that shouldn't happen for some time and replacing them shouldn't be a problem.

I was going to play around with micro ceramic bearings but couldn't wrap my head around how users would benefit from these because the rope would just run through more freely. They would be great for ascent though!
