climbing boots?

La Sportiva Glaciers have been my choice after trying all sorts. I climb daily and they last me 2 years. Not bad.

Yes!!
Good to see someone else rockin the glaciers. These are the most comfortable all-day spike boots ever, especially for off the shelf boots (and I have 2 different sized feet). My co-worker (now co-founder) talked me into buying them when my custom made boots from Drew's Manstore in K. Falls finally gave up the ghost and I haven't looked back since. Don't get me wrong, Drew's made a dang good boot, but the comfort was nothing like my LaSportiva's. I was skeptical about their durability, but after 1 1/2 years of hard use they look like most my other boots did after the first week. I've only had to re-finish the leather once, and if you've ever worked in the PNW, you know how impressive that is itself.

Biggest con for the boots: the back of the boot is only waterproofed leather for about 6", then there's a man-made fabric that soaks the water in. I was turned off by the height of the boot at first, but I prefer it now. Also, you better have a pair of soft soled boots for pruning, especially in the spring - the soles have very little give and will shred loose bark from the tree.
