Christmas bonus what do you give/get

Though we held steady on sales compared to last year our expenses were way out the window to keep the sales coming in.

Usually I give between $50 and a couple hundred $ depending on time with company and paygrade.

This year I'm gonna have to be cheap but at least we are having a holiday pizza party for everyone that worked for the company this year. Spouses & sig others are invited.

Would like to do more but I'm so far in the red this year I'm paying for dinner out of my wife's pocket.

I wanted to buy my groundie some new Scarpa boots and new Carrhart overalls. But, I lost $1,500 dollars in tools last week.

So, I can't say I've got the best gift this year for my one employee...

As an employer, I am all for giving something to employees to demonstrate appreciation for their loyalty and hard work.

We gave $ based on experience, position, and relative responsibility. This worked out to about two weeks net pay for each employee.

We also gave NorthFace jackets with company emblems.

And a pig roast + keg party for Christmas.

We value our guys. They're worth it.

Very impressive!! If you see someone around the HQ doing odd jobs unannounced don't shoot, it's just me. I really, really need a jacket. Bad! Real bad!

Actually one of my guys wife got us some tasty sausage and cheese.I think 8 years in buisness and Ive got 3 gifts total from employess.so ya that sausage meant something.

We get cash, a Christmas party, a fully stocked fridge of beer in the shop (for after work of course) I got a bottle of Jim beam, and my boss sprung for me to have my truck detailed.

Every year the crew and I throw up a couple of bucks to buy the boss something useful. This year with the new shop looking a bit bare, we all threw up 25 bucks a piece and bought a bunch of picture frames and I had a ton of photos of us all working blown up and hung in the shop along with a painting my fiancé did. It's not about getting, it's about giving. If we got nothing I would have been satisfied as long as he keeps us busy. I think next year we'll sprint for a snow blower. We are still digging out the shop from the blizard that came through

You know, it's the thought and the motions that you follow through with that really count. This year our company was way behind our goals, and I seriously didn't expect much from my boss. It's nice when you see the owner making sure that the employees know they are valued, and if times are good, they would be getting a pretty healthy cash bonus. To be employed by a good person is a rarity, and something to be grateful for.

Are you really a CitiBank Exec, disguised as an arborist? Those are the only dudes who got million $ bonuses this year.
