The Doubltree Hotel at Gateway Center in Uptown Charlotte -

http://doubletree1.hilton.com:80/en_US/d...rolina/index.do

Call the local number (704) 347-0070 to make room reservations. Say you are with the Charlotte Arborists Association's TCC and the rate we have reserved is $89 a night (great deal at this place!) This is where the meetings are on Saturday morning, so we encourage people to be in Charlotte by Friday night.

So we are being told by the Doubletree that the rooms we have reserved at a rate of $89 a night have to be spoken for by April 2nd.

We are lobbying hard to get them to extend the deadline, but the writing is on the wall, if you plan on staying at the hotel where all the haps are happening, you've got to reserve your rooms tomorrow while you have the chance. Morice and I are staying there, as well as most of the judges and out of state climbers.

Did anyone mention that this comp is less than a month away?

Re: Charlotte Arborists Association\'s 16th Annual

is it 2 or 3 days?
Can anyone explain the rigging challenge to me?
Do I need to bring rigging gear such as a porty and block?
Im drooling all overmyself with anticipation. Me thinks I need to come early to get the LOWDOWN. When is gear inspection? How high is the footlock? How is the A,R. usualy set up? Who are we? Why are we here?

Re: Charlotte Arborists Association\'s 16th Annual

As of today we have 29 competitors signed up.

I have not seen the entry fee from the likes of Jesse Huffman, so I don't know what that is all about.

We have 11 spots left.

The Doubletree hotel has graciously extended the deadline for room reservations for another 5 days. This Friday is the deadline. The rate of $89 a night is good for Friday and Saturday night only, and we only have 20 of these rooms at this rate. The regular rate is $119 a night.

We are urging people to stay at this hotel because :

1. It's really nice, and they give you chocolate chip cookies at check in.
2. All of the meetings are being held here, as well as gear check on Friday night.
3. I am staying here, as well as Morice.
4. There will be a big surprise field trip beginning from the Doubletree on Saturday night for TCC competitors and family members.

So many questions from someone who has yet to send in his entry fee!

Stop drooling on yourself and send us $75!

It was check number 1208 and I mailed it out a long time ago. hmmm Are you sure the CAA doesnt have it? Perhaps my credit card number directly over the phone can clear up this aweful mess.

Re: Charlotte Arborists Association\'s 16th Annual

I was gonna be a miser and stay somewhere cheap but the cookies sent me over the edge. I have my room reserved so you guys had better get it together with my registration fee. I lost your number Stephan. Could you please give me a shout at your earliest conveinience? Thats a good chap.

Yeah, I'm not joking about the cookies. If you make a big deal out of it, they keep giving you more cookies. Polite people take their one cookie and go away, but I like to eat the whole cookie at the registration desk, and immediately ask for another one.

They bake them fresh all day you know. It's kind of like their thing.

You probably made the cutoff, but as of tonight, we only have 5 SPOTS LEFT!

That's right. We have 35 competitors signed up. We have time on Saturday to run through 40 no problem.

The Charlotte Arborists Association would like to thank our generous sponsors:

North Carolina Urban Forestry Council
Heartwood Tree Service
Southern Organics and Supply
Duke Energy
Asplundh
Samson Rope
Ortho Carolina

And many others.

For those who made it last year, you might have an inkling of the amount of prizes we will be giving away.

For those of you who didn't make it out to last year's ice bowl in February, good job, this year is the one you should have held out for.

There are 4 rooms left at the Doubletree with the $89 rate. After that, it's probably going to be around $120 a night.

Tonight's planning meeting was one of the longest in TCC planning committee history. Hey, we do it for the climbers.

Re: Charlotte Arborists Association\'s 16th Annual TCC!

I have sent check # 2 out.
I can hardly wait!
I sent it next day so let me know when it arrives so I can continue breathing again.
