Challenging rigging job

That burst was something. Charlestown got sligittyslammed and then nothing until Cranston/Warwick/providence. I was jammed up around Burlingame park for 2 week pulling stuff off houses.

Times like those you can tell who the heros are and who the dastardly characters are. My friend Sarah had a company dump half a tree over her fence in providence from the neighbors side. Turned out the company billed out 8,000 dollars for a called tree they threw over the fence with a loader.

Our rates naturally go up for storm work, but that's ridiculous. Preying on people in a bad situation. Not cool.

Tom

My rates too but I don't bend a homeowner over a barrel. This tree should have been about $1500 give or take 300.
The tree service that comes from a, let us say "northeastern" part of the state said they would come back and clean up the mess in my friend's yard but never showed.

Alas, I digress. That's a neat trick with the prussik. I've found myself wanting another porty even with one porty and a grcs. I don't like relying on a rescue 8 for lowering more than a couple hundred pounds. The potential for losing control is too high.

How many lowering devices did you employ?

GRCS and porty. Really need another porty! The prussic thing was straight necessity, the mother of invention!

Tom

PS - why don't your friends have my number LOL?

It was my friend's neighbor who contracted the other guys. Then my friends had to deal with the shit the other guys dumped over the fence with a loader. I tell a lot of people to call you tom. I'm straight done with providence. The devil lives there.
I was eyeing the stein porty. It's only a little bit more money but it's a nice thing to situate it so it's not all flopping around. My original buckingham porty is 10 years old and has very little wear on it. I hope stein uses a similar steel.
